Personally, I’m waiting for smoother thumper motors. Ducati claims this one is well-balanced, so I’m intrigued to see it in a bike

I have owned more than a few thumpers and any single that makes more than 40 horsepower is exciting to see even if it is not perfect or the numerical best. Just glad they are developing better thumper motors.

That’s absolutely not how loans work.

I don’t know if this may be true in specific circumstances, but it’s never been true on any car loan I’ve had. I’ve paid off multiple car loans early, and I’ve only ever paid the remaining principle.

No, it’s not “that one person”, it’s that one incredible asshole who can’t resist showing off what a mega-asshole he is.

For reference, google says an average city block is 1/8 x 1/16 mile so yeah 1/16 this is kind of silly. Unless you have a low power or AWD car, most of the “race” is probably a test of your tire traction more than the rest of the car.

I don’t undertstand the business model.

Lol this is literally a 100m dash for cars.

Nah, leave it up to local municipalities to make their call. I’ve had countless hours of my life wasted yearly due to having to wait at intersections at red lights where absolutely zero cars passed through the intersection for the entirety of the light cylce as I was waiting for green. I’d add ban the bs left turn

If this guy was my neighbor, I would love to have an HOA.

100% Agreed. I read the title was prepared to be mad at the insurance company, but after seeing the photo, I get it.

To be fair, from the one picture I see of his driveway, he does have an unreasonable amount of debris all over the place. The insurance company basically acted as the HOA here (which I normally despise), this guy’s driveway looks like a hoarders junkyard with enough space to fit a car between the piles of trash.

“...and for a reasonable fee, my friends, we’ll make sure that nobody walks off with your tires. By the way, how’re you fixed for garbage removal?

The streets were made with public tax dollars and repaired with public tax dollars. The race is on public streets, not a private track!

If I were a restaurant owner, I’d go for “malicious non-compliance”: buy a bunch of kid’s science kit periscopes to let patrons watch the cars race by.

Ahhh F1 and price gouging. They go together like Las Vegas and syphilis.

LOL shit just imagine this was back when the mob ran the place, me thinks some F1 drivers and team owners might end up in a hole in the desert.

Las Vegas and F1. The perfect coming together of greed and excess.

Spending tons of money to try and blind onlookers (good luck) on the Vegas Strip while running a small racket to cover the costs of doing so. Do they know how bright the lights would have to be? Do they think that won’t affect the drivers?

Its nice. But I don’t see $600k worth of anything here.
