The V10 was the best sounding power plant in F1. Better than the V12 even.

The 718 is actually a fantastic driving car, but yeah...it sounds like crap.

It’s subtle, but the old Spyder didn’t have the chin spoiler that the GT4 had. Also, didn’t have the more aggressive side scoop. Of course, these things are easily changeable, so definitely not a deal breaker.

I used to own a GT4, which was an awesome car. If I had to do it again, I would go with the Spyder - I can’t argue against open air and more noise. I wasn’t a huge fan of the previous gen Spyder looks, but this one looks pretty sweet.

My Porsche Indy looks similar. If someone is meticulous about their work, they will, more often than not, have a work station that naturally reflects that attitude.

Porsche is not taking the car back to Porsche Exclusive for the wrap- it sounds like they are contracting these jobs out with “certified experts”, whatever that means. 

Installation matters as much, if not more, than the actual film. Installing PPF correctly is a skill/art. There is a level of OCD with the high end jobs. Depending on what “certified expert” they use - the end result could be great...or a total disaster.

I daily drive an M5 comp. Despite the shit it gets from Jalopnik, it’s an incredible feat of engineering. The thing is the size of a 90s era 7-series and it moves incredibly well. Buying an old foreign sports car is not a casual thing. You are buying the integrity of the seller as much as anything. This car was not loved. It has been dumped and resold by someone who couldn’t even pretend to give a shit. Red flags on this everywhere.

Any car with these wheels will probably have carbon ceramic brakes. Brake dust won’t really be an issue.

He has complete mastery over that vehicle. It’s incredible to watch.

I’m devastated.

The air-cooled Porsches are saturated with character. The interior is virtually the same from 1963-1998 and 100% purposeful and screwed together, tight as a drum. The tactile, clockworks way the door clicks when you shut it. The smell and sound of the things - the seating position, visibility and visceral driving…

I love the tacit snobbery here about this ridiculous car.

I’d chill on the assumptions. I could buy this thing if I wanted to. Trust me, these barges not as impressive as you think. Once you own a few of this type of car, you realize they’re mostly bullshit.
