I own both a 991 GT3 Touring and a 993 which has been heavily modified (mostly w/Porsche OEM). The 993 has more presence and more character than any car I’ve owned. It’s got truly incredible steering feel and the car feels alive in a way that no modern car feels.

I had the ZF in an M5 Competition which I sold a while ago. It was a solid and boring but totally competent transmission. I have an F87 M2 Competition now and the DCT is a lot more direct feeling and the shifts are more firm and immediate feeling than the auto. It does jerk a bit and act like a manual, which I

meh. OG Top Gear was overrated. Bunch of corny old man jokes and bro culture BS. Mostly a clown show and none of their opinions on cars were relevant or insightful.

Found the asshole.

My mistake, thanks for the correction.

I jumped out of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade I was reviewing, dipped my credit card in the pump, and filled the tank — two-thirds depleted after about 350 miles of highway driving — with premium unleaded.

How do you review a car and not know it’s a diesel?

Yeah, it is what it is. Believe it or not, my current Range Rover has been more reliable than the Land Cruiser it replaced. Obviously that is only anecdotal, but hopefully the new one is as reliable.

Yep - MSRP at my local dealer. It seems to be very region specific whether you pay a markup (SoCal is notoriously bad about this). Of the four dealers I called in the southeast, all were selling at sticker, but refusing to sell outside their rigid territory. Land Rover is really cracking down on this, because regional

It’s my second one. I have a ‘19 4th gen that it will be replacing. We’ve been very happy with it - 45k miles and zero issues. I had a Land Cruiser before that one and the Rover has been my favorite. Very comfortable and luxurious, but not in a gaudy way. It’s a great car for travel.

The price differential on the new Range Rovers is huge depending on trim level. I have a ‘23 coming in a couple of months nicely optioned at $118k. In a weird way, I think it’s a good value. The higher level trims are where things get wacky.

I go to NOLA frequently. There is no law there. It is out of control.

When I was looking for a 993 a few years ago, I ran across this place. I think everyone looking for an older car ends up going down the BHCC rabbit hole. Their cars are poorly documented and the entire operation screams “RUN”. When you’re on a budget and target fixated on getting a certain kind of car, it’s very easy

Porsche is an obvious candidate.

First thing - a pedantic detail, but the car was a Turbo S, not regular Turbo.

What would you do with 25 Camrys? That sounds like a disadvantage.

The brushed stainless steel takes it over the top for me.

I guess this isn’t a good car for people who live in Chicago or NYC.

The Hyundai looks like a catfish

I had a Tacoma. Cool truck, but I got frustrated with the small/narrow bed size.
