If I’m not mistaken, the Ben Affleck relationship, and that video/album were also the genesis of Jennifer referring to herself as “J.Lo,” which the rest of us quickly adopted as well.”

LOL nooooooo that is incorrect and also adorable, mainly because I’m now old enough to somehow remember that, no, “J.Lo” has been

Rresponses like Toobin’s have got to become the (minimum) standard by which the media operates if we are to survive this catastrophe of an administration.

and without access to safe abortions, more women will become homeless when their unwanted babies are born. and conservatives see this as a win.

Now I’m gonna go read the article and see if I can track down Shamika and see if she’s interested in a Home health aide position with one of the agencies I oversee as a Nurse Casemanager. This is so sad but a hard fact for many families

Props to you and to the NYT for this. We need far, far more reporting on this. Because our corporatist Republican overlords want us to talk about caravans and ending birthright citizenship and other things that are irrelevant distractions from real issues like this.

I think a lot of your immunity is built in childhood, and it depends a lot on what people are willing to eat/used to eating. My dad was raised by a widowed mother of five and was pathological about not throwing away leftovers. He would eat pretty much anything. When his mind started to go, I had to throw things away

I love your mom. Using your dad as the test subject. Just like my family. My poor dad.

LOL, while I’m sure your parents are LOVELY (and hearty) people, that’s a bit beyond my comfort zone. Though when I lived in Europe, the old lady I stayed with would basically do that for several days at a time, and I survived. Her cooking was 100% worth the risk, though.

Three most likely scenarios:
1) Most obvious (too obvious?) is just a general muddying of the waters of the Mueller probe just ahead of the midterms.
2) Further attempt to discredit the media by basically getting them to report on something that is a complete hoax, thereby “proving” that the mainstream media spreads

The capers and syrup look unopened but the mustard is another story. I, too, have questions for Mom.

Ina’s going at that mustard with a soup spoon toNIGHT.

I’m calm, dude.

Furthermore...

A lot of the excuses are weak, but the fact that there are numerous states where employers do not have to legally allow their employers to vote during working hours is continually insane.

I thought that whole “everyone gets a trophy!” joke thing that older comedians always seemed to make fun of was cruel and made people of this age group sound like they needed a reward just to be motivated to do basic, necessary things.

I was looking for this comment. This is a fucking life or death emergency for millions of Americans (not even to mention immigrants) and THESE excuses are valid?

Yes, the absolute best way to fix a problem is to stand on the sideline and feel morally superior about it.

I really hope someone from the Root utterly tears this article apart, because this is a great example of white privilege.

It’s almost as if Voter Suppression is a systemic problem that is trying to make an infinite apathy machine.

“But those kind of tasks can be hard for me to do if I’m not enthusiastic about it.”
