Good point, though in most situations you can only take out three or four goons before someone spots you and forces a firefight. The game definitely encourages stealth, but only to a certain point. Though even if you're taking the stealthy route, you're often performing stealth kills, not takedowns. Is snapping

Seeing Richard Lemarchand (Uncharted) speak tomorrow. Debating what to ask if I get the chance during Q&A: His stance on the ludonarrative dissonance present in the series (i.e. if he views the discord between narrative (fun-loving Drake has relationship issues and solves ancient mysteries) and gameplay (murder all

A few years back they actually closed off several sections of Times Square to help alleviate traffic. So assuming Nintendo takes over one of the pedestrian mall-type spots, it won't dent traffic at all. Plus, as others have said, no one in their right mind would actually drive through Times Square if they intended

They say it in the game, do they not? I think it's Mont-ay-rig-ee-oh-nee, or something to that effect. Anyone speak Italian around here?

Well....one's the desert...

Yeah, me too. Honestly, I understand the reasoning behind a giant ad at the top of the page, but it should push the rest of the content down, not overlap it.

BRAP BRAP ads are funny BRAP

I have a theory that the letter grade system is why most gamers perceive a grade of under 70 as not worth their time. We use this 10-point scale, but it seems to me most people interpret it as a letter scale. Like, they see a 70 as a C (average), not as a 7/10 (well above average). There's also the problem of waaay

Has Metacritic always converted C's into 50s? I know a letter grade scale only goes from A-F, in which a C would be a 50 if you converted it to numbers, but I would argue it should be a 70, as it is in the US education system.

I believe you're thinking of Miegakure, which isn't out yet.

Heh....."Irrational" fear....

That kid's not just dressed up as any old France....he's Francis the Talking France from an Old Man Murray article!

Pfft. Only losers buy hardcover editions; that's how the publishers get you. I always wait for the paperback version. By then they've fixed all the garbled text and paperbacks use a completely different spine technology so they rarely close on you. Paperback FTW!

First thing I noticed when I opened the box as well.

Oh really? That's surprising. I'm still going to download it before I start, but that's good to know. Thanks.

I'm a little confused about the wording regarding the Catwoman DLC. Does downloading it change the actual intro to the game, or do her separate missions just have a slow start? It seems the latter; just want to make sure.

No, no, not at all! As I said, I really like the Gut Checks. You've got a pretty diverse group of writers over at Kotaku Tower and I like getting these micro-reviews that approach the game from different directions. It's a great complement to a separate, beefier review (and ideally, once both are online they should

I like these Gut Checks but it is a little ridiculous they're all so positive... Where the haters at? :P

In their defense, there is no such thing as a "perfect game." :P

Hey, no prob!
