Well you're in luck!

That appears to be the general consensus in the reviews I've read. But I'm all for a slow-burn album that grows on me over time. I'm really looking forward to sinking my...ears?...into the album.

HOW IS IT?

No that totally makes sense. I still pick up the physical releases of certain bands from time to time. That said, I'll be buying it on iTunes. The Stage Names is an incredible album. John Allyn Smith Sails is one of my favorite songs EVER. I plan on seeing them in LA next month. Should be fun!

Okkervil River have a new album out. I plan on iTunes-ing it (if that's a verb) later today. But the video for their first single "Wake and Be Fine" is on Youtube and I'd highly recommend everyone check it out.

Okkervil!! Have you picked up I Am Very Far yet?

I listened to The Island approximately 5,000 times last summer. So. Goddamn. Good.

Pointing out typos on the internet? That's a low blog, man.

Much prefer the new Blow View, thanks. Any idea if/when "hearting" will reappear?

Meanwhile I can't unsee this.

I'm not doubting that at all; Apple and Google absolutely deserve those top spots. It's just that even after viewing their chart detailing their methodology, I find the list a bit...odd. Maybe it's because Step 2 is "Portion of intangible earnings attributable to brand." I'm not even remotely familiar with the

What a fascinating list, despite how abstract I find a list ranking "brand value." It's amazing how many Chinese banks are in the top 50. And as impressive as it is for Nintendo to be on there, purely a video game company, I wonder how far below #100 Activision Blizzard rests.

From my experience in Shanghai, "lines" in China deserve air quotes. I can't imagine waiting outside a shop for a new product launch.

I find the two very difficult to compare. One is a hardware failure that seemingly anyone could get at random. The other is a temporary shutdown of a feature that affects everyone equally. They both suck, but to me the RRoD is in a different category entirely. In any case, when people look back on this console

Hahaha well said.

Very true, but as China moves increasingly towards a market-based economy, to put it bluntly, shit like this isn't gonna fly.

I imagine they're exploiting some sort of loophole, I'm just curious what it is. Unless the loophole is just "It's Chinese-made so it's cool."

Seriously!! Where did it come from? :P

Studying abroad for a semester. It's just a temporary thing, but I'm loving it here.

If this is the case, do you think you could find a source for it? I mean, this is quoted in the Kotaku article I linked above:
