I think they disproved credit cards/magnet issues on Mythbusters with an albeit pretty small sample size. It took a ridiculously strong magnet to affect credit cards (like, MRI strength).

As many have pointed out, I think you're confusing it with Gizmodo. I'm hypersensitive to the issue myself, but even I tend to think Lifehacker is very good about being unbiased. Articles about things to try on a mobile device usually have an iOS and Android version, and I think desktop apps they choose tend to be

Does anyone know a way to just force portrait or landscape? I can't understand why there's no function for this. I don't want sensor rotation, and I don't want it to guess between portrait and landscape.

Forgive my ignorance since I don't know much about iOS, but can you not change keyboards on the iPhone? I thought I've seen keyboard replacements for it, but it's possible I'm just not paying close attention.

To clarify, it sounds like by "Windows" you mean "Outlook". Also, if you have your Outlook syncing to an Exchange server, and your phone syncs to the exchange server, that should accomplish the same thing.

The clothespin idea is cool, but I tend to use binder clips because they're more multitasker. And I've actually used them to clamp curtains like the tip says!

Speaking as an English major, I can never understand the aversion people have to throwing out, destroying, or marking up books. Books are paper with words on them.
