FYI - Dark roast coffee and lighter roast coffee have very negligible differrences in caffeine, and which has more depwnds on whether you measure your beans by weight or volume.

I feel like not enough has been said on rewards associated with credit cards vs debit. i know many people who have used credit rewards for flights, and my wife and I use an Amazon credit card throughout the year, and cash the rewards for an Amazon gift card we use for Christmas shopping. It usually comes out to like

StrokeIt has been around for a decade, and I still feel like it's never gotten its proper due.

I agree that they're for different purposes, but I think that's why it's peculiar it's missing from this article. When I think of "pausing a Netflix stream from my couch" I don't think of any kind of VNC client, which would be overkill, I would go for gmote. Of course, if I want to email myself a file, I'd need a VNC.

I know right? It's like, do people think trees grow on trees or something?

What about 3rd party break/fixes like SquareTrade? Do they cover Apple products? Not for anything, but I can't help but feel some level of screwage when the guy who does the hardware makes a borderline irreparable product and your only recourse is to give them more money ahead of time.

Agreed; I've seen commercial products for this purpose that are pretty pricey, especially compared to a $1 pool noodle.

How I'd except...EXCEPT WHAT???

Can we please focus on what's important and determine whether stock-photo-girl is 18 or not?

I have to agree. Obviously it can be done, and I've seen people do amazing things with this stuff, but I've tried this multiple times, and after about 5 minutes I reach for a lighter or a match and light the damn twig on fire. I mean, it's great that it prepares you for some possible scenario where I forgot to bring a

People, look, you need to be spending more money on good lenses. Lenses are the most important part of the damn camera. There is no point buying a $1000 body when you're gonna stick a slow piece of plastic in front of it. I almost pine for film, because at least people understood that lenses are supposed to cost more

Agreed; the first thing I did when I got my Kill-A-Watt was check my power supplies and I was very surprised how little current they drew considering the amount of attention they get. My biggest cluster of power adapters stacked into a a daisy chain of multiple outlets (yeah, yeah, I know) drew 5 watts. *yawn*

Now playing

Of course, once you get *past* that screen...

Rooting? I can get behind installing a custom ROM being a bit dicey sometimes depending on yor phone, but rooting? Most phones you download a program, connect your phone, and double click a .bat file. Voodoo Rootkeeper makes rooting an errantly unrooted phone even easier.

I thought this trick was cool the first time I saw it on Lifehacker, two years ago. The supplied image is exactly the same one, too: [lifehacker.com]

I understand what you're saying, and never pay to wash my car anymore, but if you're paying $12-22 that's not detailing, it's just cleaning.

Yeah, this is the Milch maneuver, and absolutely textbook correct way to deal with this, and yes, you need to be relaxed - tense muscles will make things more difficult. It's like scratching the back of your neck, and then moving it toward your opposite shoulder. You have a smart doctor.

Seconded. More or less agree with the fire statement. It's certainly do-able, but not even worth recommending. Unless you practice it and already know you can do it ahead of time, it's not worth attempting in a survival situation, and if you already practiced it you don't need an article to tell you to try.

I like fun innovations as much as the next guy, but this has to be the dumbest modification to a 1911 I've ever seen.
