Oh sure, but from what I recall it was something that was announced after the initial funding campaign. it just seemed like something extra that could still be added separate from the core experience given their initial pitch.

Yeah, they billed it initially as first person ship combat, the ground stuff got announced later on if I remember right. The perception is that this is “extra” stuff that adds to the game but isn’t integral to it. I’d rather get the promised spaceship game first ;)

The initial pitch was about space combat, I don’t recall the first person combat or exploration stuff coming up until later on.

You get downvoted for criticizing anything about the game on the subreddit on Reddit, but as a backer, I honestly don’t understand why the FPS component is even a thing right now. It’s a great feature and I certainly think it could be fun... but if those resources had been devoted to either Squadron 42 or the online…

As Gen Y (‘86) I don’t know what you’re talking about. My anecdotal experience is that people in my area latched onto cell phones ASAP. Made the jump to smartphones as soon as they became affordable. I have fond memories of my first Windows Mobile phone back in the day...

Exactly. Why do people find it odd that some would like to wait for facts to emerge but giving in to rampant speculation? Any number of things could have been his motivation. Once the facts emerged it seems like most people accepted that, with the exception of some within the echo-chamber of the internet.

Exactly. That’s the problem with these zombie survival games. Their main premise isn’t even valid because they put the focus on corny roleplaying and griefing in most cases. I want an actual zombie survival game where we have to survive in a world overrun by actual zombies. Not hillbillies with shotguns.
