The failure of the Hand to appear like an indomitable evil, nay, to even seem like an ominous threat tells me that the mythology of this series isn’t revolving around the fight between the good and the evil. There really is no evil in this Marvel Universe. We could have gotten a really sick and interesting villain in

So that was my first reaction when I came to AV club today! Kinja? Really? ughhh....

Goddammit, let him look… You realize this is the best way to have him removed from the office? The world would be a lot safer if we let Donnie fry his eyes. Hell, even Melania would heave a sigh of relief and would finally be able to eat!

His cluelessness can be funny in this series but in his own series it became extremely annoying. As long as they keep playing up the fact that he is clueless and a fool and don't try to pass it off as a sincere gesture, I am cool with it.

    haha!

Yeah, that seems to be the case but for Pete's sake, let the woman jump at least. Also, now that I think about it, if they did allow Jess to fly, I don't think she'd stick around to fight. She rarely gives a crap anyway! :)

Yeah, I agree and in this series her power seem more underwhelming as if the writers are intentionally keeping it off for her solo outing where she can really get down to testing her strengths. I hope her character becomes more aware of her powers eventually. The woman can freakin' fly! At least let her utilize her

During the Iron fist commentary on AV Club someone had suggested me to watch the fight scenes in Banshee on YouTube and boy, was I blown away. Tom Pelphrey is one those actors that the Iron Fist show just can't do without. Ward's own show may be a wish-in-a-well but man, I would even just watch him go about his day

Ugh….The Berlanti-verse has milked it to sourness! I have had it with The Flash/Arrow and the likes and the sad part is I really loved Flash's cast… And miss Cisco!

I don't know…I think even while setting up a charity he would come across like a privilleged little shit. The way he keeps buying buildings and restaurants and keeps giving away his credit cards….(happens in Episode 4, I think)

Yeah, and bring in Ward in every episode with his "He is Bulletproof?? I just can't deal with this shit!" face.

I didn't see it as a division along gender lines but more of a 'let the superheroes figure out that they both are on the same sides and fighting the same bad guy' kind of thing.
Also, Claire and Colleen and Misty and everyone who plays the supporting role in these Superhero series usually always hold a more rational

That is just plain wrong. Bruce Wayne knew of his privileged position not only because of his color but also his social standing. He knew and he initially rejected it. This has always been a focal point whenever the story was about his origins. When he did become ready to adopt his alter-ego, The Batman, Bruce Wayne

I didn't like that they kept making space for Danny whiny, privileged attitude in Iron Fist, but in this series he is much better because there are other calling his shit out and he is actually listening to them…! His childlike innocence can be endearing as well so yeah, I get where you are coming from and I do agree

You know Jessica and Zhou Cheng would hit it off instantly. Both love getting drunk and fight with a tactical set-up in mind.

I wonder if they'll ever explore Jessica's ability to fly. In the comics she does eventually learn it. Also, is Jessica as strong as Luke? Because in her own season, she does seem to take his punches well and she could stop him as well but in this series, her fight scenes involve less physical effort and more tactical

I just want to say to Marvel: Always keep Danny with any one of the Defenders at all times.

I loved that sequence. Charlie Cox's fight scenes have always been a highlight for me. Luke and Jessica have more of a brawling style and Danny….well he looks better when he summons the Fist but over all, this sequence is the best in the entire series.

No, they did do well with Matt's arc as well because even though he was following Jessica because he had heard her talk to Malcom on phone and suspected that she was involved in something dangerous, but once he saw her enter Midland Circle, his doubts were confirmed. Matt had already been there in Season 2 of

When Alexandra places her hand on Danny's shoulder while he is making a huge ass of himself…I almost expected her to say, Bane-style, "Do you feel in charge?"
