Seems as though the villain isn’t just an illithid. Took about four viewing to notice this.

Except that it follows up on the story and characters from the original, continuing the conflict and further exploring the questions and themes brought up in the original. The only thing that’s different is what part of Faerun its set in.

Hope they do wild stuff like the first 2 and their expansion packs like having a miniature giant space hamster/your new born baby take up an inventory slot or having fancy underwear you can collect spread out over 3 games and expansions that when saved and combined create a super weapon

That's the outcome to hope for imo. New Tactical RPG using 5e rules set in Forgotten Realms.

1. Make it real-time.

From what I’m reading, it’s “same city, same universe, previous games are canon, but new adventure set some time after the old games.”

She’ll likely be long dead by the time this game starts.

You must gather your party before venturing forth.

So the villian appears to be an Illithid? Interesting at first I thought he was changing into a Slayer and groaned at more Bhallspawn. Hoping this is a loose continuation with new characters and not a direct sequel..

Successfully? Probably not.

I love when my party members walk directly into a trap when I explicitly tried to make them leave the room.

I cannot be caged. I cannot be controlled.

I knew it, the game is directly tied into the Descent into Avernus campaign that’s coming out this fall for tabletop D&D.

But can I romance Jaheira?

You must gather your party before venturing forth.

Okay, but will it have the most important feature of the games: the horrendous Infinity Engine pathfinding? It’s not an authentic Baldur’s Gate experience unless you’re yelling at one of your party members for going the opposite direction from the rest.

This is the just the dumbest of fan theories. It’s so dumb, it’s actively offensive. Yeah, Sephiroth, the best SOLDIER of all time, now powered by incredible alien magic completely WHIFFS on his sneak attack. And then doesn’t notice that he did that, despite the fact that killing her is VITAL to his plans. And then

enigmatic eggmatic villain Solas

Man, EA knows how to ruin some shit. Let me nerd out and have one pure thing with dragons!
