Even before getting PBR Morrowind was looking fantastic. Here’s a shot I took using the latest MGE XE beta (before the PBR prototype) and Tamriel Rebuilt.

Meanwhile Morrowind now is capable of Physically Based Rendering thanks to the latest MGEXE. In the near future Morrowind will look better than Skyrim. The gameplay will still be a little clunky but that’s slowly getting better as well.

Oh the good old days. Children of Morrowind was a great mod- but the unkillable aspect always bothered me. Emma seems to have disappeared from the scene long ago. Right now on the Bethesda forums people are patching CoM to fix some of its quirks (though I imagine children will remain unkillable.

You should give Morrowind a try again. It's come a long way. The modding community is still as active as ever and the game is looking and playing great these days.

I up voted you mostly for Trent and Johnny.

That’s the rub though buddy- you started back when it was easier to get a job in the industry. Looked at the job listings on gamasutra lately? Every single position requires a degree. I decided to go the school route- so I spent a year in art school and got myself $30k in debt before I gave up- still despite knowing

Try swimming in the Ocean in Crysis. The deeper in you go the darker the water gets until it’s pitch black- the only thing you can see are little jellyfish polyps- then when you are already freaked out the shark will attack.

Mara Jade or Bust!

Not even close.

Which is why I never drink cheap Wine or buy inferior hardware. It's not easy going back once you've been spoiled. First time I played a game in 4k I knew that regular HD gaming was ruined for me.

I really did try to read this article but your unhealthy, bordering on scarily obsessive, phallic and scatalogical preoccupation made that impossible. Besides you ragged on order 66- one of the very best scenes from a movie that was decidedly a mixed bag.

This article is so full of misleading statements. To reduce the arguments on both sides of Skyrim modding to “Drama” misses the point. There were valid arguments on both sides. It was the lack of communication from both Valve and Bethesda that ultimately fueled the fire. The drama over attribution as you put it has a

Not true at all from my perspective- the graphics are dated- but still impressive for their time, the animations are wired but these are minor gripes- the story is utterly fantastic.

I’m happy to see Baldur’s Gate 2 at the top of the list. Also Planescape Torment and Thief 2 are very deserving to be in this list. I would've liked to see Morrowind and KOTOR.

Sadly it's kind of been a competition since the beginning of both series. As they are my two favorites I find that tragic.

^ so much this! They could've been working on this since launch time for all we know.

That is fascinating! You’ve just sent down a Rabbit Hole that never ends I think. I’m very interested in that seal of theirs on the Wordpress page- I’m going to study it using my rare dictionary of Occult, Hermetic and Alchemical sigils.

It's been my motto since 2006.

I want to finish that business with Saskia. I let her live in TW2.

No they never did. Problem with the new levels though was that they messed up game balance. You ended up fighting a later game boss right at the beginning of the game on the console version from what I understand. More importantly they screwed over PC gamers by never porting the bug fixes back to PC. The game is still
