It’s almost like a ‘currency’ not backed by a governmental financial institution isn’t real, and the money put in was only used to pay back earlier investors.

If only their was a name for that sort of thing.......

It is, but I was just citing the people who want more than what they paid for are people who also are cheap. The rest is still relevant to the article.

Now playing

They even have a new advertising campaign!

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again, if “just doing your job” is “quiet quitting” then giving sub-inflation raises or increasing insurance costs is “quiet firing”

nothing guarantees promotions or job advancement, but having a solid work/life balance tends to produce happier employees.

A better way of phrasing it would be “Acting your wage”

“Additional tasks that may be assigned” is not an obligation for longer hours (paid or not) nor work outside of standard business hours. My general response when assigned a new task is “Ok, great. Since my time is 100% committed, what of my current work would you like me to stop doing so I can take on this?”

Misleading headline. Antarctica is just fine... the people are in trouble.

This would have made things a lot easier on my Dad and his regiment when they crossed it back in 1945.

how about twitter just turns itself off from September to... well forever? i mean that would cut down on a lot of misinfo.

Conserve Water: Shower with a friend.

How do you shower in only 8 mins? Thought everyone takes at least 15…

Ugh, the original once you get past the effects and shiny CGI is just unwatcheable now. The plot is tired, the writing is sloppy, it’s offensive in it’s hubris and cultural appropriation, the acting is either lazy or phoned in (not to bag on the actors but clomping about a green room is not the most conducive

Man,... If only there was some kind of organization that everyone could decide should be put in charge of regulating these kinds of businesses so that people don’t get taken advantage of...

I had the wonderful fortune to see Sir Ian McKellen play Richard III live on stage from the second row of the theater. It was amazing. Giving the production an fascist tone and costumes was mind blowing.
