A decently powerful crossbow can penetrate almost any bulletproof vest. So can a knife for that matter. Saying that it won’t stop a crossbow is not proof of it not being bulletproof.

Subsonic doesn’t mean shit either. It’s all about inertial energy...
So uh... Depending on the arrowhead used, compound bows can have better penetration than 9mm bullets or even .22 bullets...
I’d be running for office and throwing them out.
I typically don’t watch the podium stuff anymore (is it an FIA rule to spray champagne? So played...also the Austrian & Dutch national anthems plain suck) but do the fans at the US venues get to rush the track and hang at the podium like seemingly most Euro races? I think that provides a nice connection. At Canada…
I honestly am not surprised by your feelings of isolation while in the paddock. The teams are keeping their cars and strategies as close to their chests as possible. And I whole-heartedly agree with that fan who said that they don’t want F1 to act more American, because the reality is that it’s not an American sport,…
What a cool guy. IMHO the HP franchise owes most of its success to the supporting cast- him, Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, etc lent their prodigious skill to make the movies much better than they deserved to be.
Well it’s primarily, at least with mainstream automakers because people prefer crossovers/SUV/trucks, over just about anything else. It’s why the only car Ford makes is the Mustang, the only car Chevy makes other than the Corvette is the Malibu, the Japanese and Koreans still make car’s obviously, but sports cars, at…
A few come to mind
They meant “...I’m happy I was both born...” but are too dense to realize that they made a typo, when asked what the typo meant they attacked the asker, and are now surprised that a screen capture takes only a few hotkeys.
I didnt necessarily mean that cost was a factor for you, just that its expensive all around. For development (which is absolutely in the beginning phases of in the grand scheme) and for the consumer. There is a LOT of progress that needs to be made and its still early. Maybe down the line there will be something…
Now the anti-ev crowd with complain about how the grid is not ready and they will oppose any work on that very grid.
Its a new tech thats also expensive for now. Be open-minded. You never know, but I also dont fault your current views.
Ah, but if that balrog had some lithium, perhaps his mood wouldn’t have been swinging so wildly?
This doesn’t have to mean lives getting worse. Much of our consumption isn’t making our lives better.
When you implement these changes that make shipping more expensive, the market then optimizes with those costs in mind, and as a net result the consumer usually only sees a fraction of that increase combined with different purchasing decisions.
Schedule is awfully important. They might allow a very little slip while moving more slowly without good wind, but mostly I think that if they don’t have wind they’ll just turn up the revs regardless. At some point you lose more money by being late than by burning bunker fuel.
I like it. Get the cargo to a destination in typical cargo ship times, while saving money and having less pollution. Sounds like actual wins to me?
Make shipping companies pay for the carbon they spew out into the air burning the nasty, unrefined sludge that they use as fuel, we’d see them looking for ways to use less, or even no fuel really quick.
