Simple solution: if you're driving a commercial vehicle, you need a commercial driver's licence. It's a reasonably straightforward administrative fix that acts as a deterrent for people gaming the system and ensures that large trucks are driven by people with at least a modicum of ability.

Love the comedy percussion...

Sounds like you were as reasonable as you could be with him. And I agree completely that he definitely crossed a boundary as soon as he involved your friend against her wishes - informed consent is the prime concern (he doesn’t seem to have had much of an understanding of harm either to be honest).

Reading that description... I think that goes beyond kink and well into the realms of untreated psychological disorder. Goddamn.

It’s an improvement on his vacation photos at least:

I’m getting an inkling that you're not a fan of Verstappen...

Honey is also verboten. Free the bees!!!

Golden Oldies.

“After you, sir.”

I kinda wish that Verstappen hadn’t tapped his brakes and had just kept coasting to a stop, with Hamilton tucked in behind him. It would have highlighted the absurdity of the situation, and hopefully hastened the removal of stupid DRS.

I suspect it has. And it is interesting from the perspective of seeing how the teams operate. But it’s also pretty unedifying.

Not really his call to hand down. He was essentially brokering an agreement between the two teams. It was either that or leave it to the stewards, but he couldn’t unilaterally decide on the outcome.

In that case it seems to me like he’s more like a patient but slightly exasperated parent letting the team principals have their little tantrums then explaining to them that they can’t have the rules changed.

He doesn’t adjudicate penalties though does he? The stewards are independent of the race director.

He had the faster car and is similarly-skilled, so logically that’s quite reasonable.

That’s the reason, but it’s not legal. If he was allowed to do that, there would be no reason for the second car in a one-two not to essentially stop on track. It would mean that the rest of the field would have to stop (no overtaking under a yellow/safety cars), and the front-running car could take a free pitstop and
