McLaren have been using that V8 for so long that it’s easy to forget. The new engine in the Artura is an interesting one though (not many 120-degree V6s around).

Also, the McLaren Artura and the (admittedly not quite here yet) Ferrari 296 GTB would like a word...
I agree with everything you’ve said there. When I said “not completely original”, I probably should have been clearer - this car is essentially a recreation of a 962. It does not appear to have any competition history, it's built out of spares with a chassis made in the US. Nothing irreplaceable was lost.
If nobody was badly hurt, then everything else can be fixed. By the sounds of it this wasn't a completely original car anyway, so the repairs will keep some skilled craftspeople employed, and it will be back out and running again soon.
Any thoughts on the suitability of the R1S for your situation?
You’re not helping to keep the prices down, you know...
Batteries are still really expensive. They cost about $140/kW.h at the moment, which means this has $11K of battery.
Depends on your angle of descent, but I suspect you're right.
Positively leaps.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see another film star in the running for this one...
“Lawn Dart” always seemed rather evocative...
Operating from 62000ft above ground to 6ft below.
They’ll be without their social umbilical cord for hours. They might well just walk into traffic as a result.
It’s simple enough - destroy the thing they love most in the whole world.
Yeah, the breaker bar is going to be breaking other things...
Fair point - that’s what I meant when I said it would mess with the headlights - that it would mean that the normal auto-leveling wouldn’t happen.
That may mess with the headlights though - it will very likely be the same sensor that's used in both cases.
Likely just measures the height of the rear suspension using the same signal/sensors as the headlight level.
They’ve expressly said they won't deny warranty claims on that basis, though I suppose that taking them at their word may be unwise.
Things tend to cost more than the sum of their parts...
