Can you really fumble in outer space? Won't the ball just fly away? Ratings were a 0.16 last night.

Colony was just renewed.

I understand what TV ratings are for, and they are also used to determine if a show should be brought back. it has been used that way for decades. The amount of viewers that are watching a show when it gets below a 0.20 is horrendously low. That is indisputable. However, we live in a world where we can't be hurting

Yes, the ratings where it is made were good, and I'm sure that they made AMC an offer(as in very cheap) that they couldn't refuse. However, the ratings went from a 0.39 on season one to a 0.14 in season 2. If AMC can't give the show a decent lead in show, the ratings will drop again. Then you start ticking off your

I guess you are talking about Falling Water. It lost me in a hurry and I couldn't find anyone to root for. I'm sure the fans are happy it is back, but what happens when the USA ratings next season go under a 0.10(which is a very real possibility?)

It's a tough situation. That's why we can only use the ratings that are available. It may not be fair, but then life isn't fair. The Networks are free to do what they want. USA just renewed Falling Water with a 0.14 live average rating last season. Five years ago, nobody would have dared renew anything with ratings

Any real streaming numbers. Not guesses, real numbers that these companies don't want to give out.

I'll give you another reason for hope that colony should be renewed ASAP. USA just renewed Falling Water with its live average rating of a 0.14 I'm in shock.

It would also help if streaming video, were available, but they aren't. if the only thing available are Nielsen, +3 and +7, then that's all we have to work with. until streaming and ratings from Netflix and Amazon and the like are available to use, what we have is it.

Unfortunately, you're not the only person who has said that the ratings are too low. The ratings are lower than last season(unfortunately) but they are still above a 0.20 USA is owned by NBC Universal, which has renewed absolute disasters on SYFY very quickly, but took almost 3 months to renew Colony last year despite

Thanks for the info on the bottom. Isn't it great that somebody who has nothing to gain or isn't being bought actually cares?

No mental illness here, but thanks for asking. The mental Illness is with the people who think that standards should just keep dropping and shows that were never considered renewable with horrendous ratings should just be renewed because they like them. If I've done anything on this site in the last few days, I've

I'm guessing that this is a Seinfeld reference and since I think I watched maybe 2 episodes of the entire series, I don't understand what you are saying. Sorry you wasted your time.

Enjoy your little fantasy world where pathetically rated shows get renewed all the time and you think you are God. Hopefully it will end sooner than later.

Yes, isn't it great? I don't get paid ANYTHING and yet I care that standards are going to hell. It may seem like I'm spitting in the wind, but someone has to try and do something. Do you think all these people out screaming and rioting because they don't like our president think they are wasting there time? More later.

i have a friend who loves Mr. Robot, and he said there was lots of times in season 2 he couldn't figure out what the heck the people were saying. it is very possible that I prefer the Walking Dead, Into The Badlands and Colony because I am interested in End of The World storylines, although I couldn't get into

That's what CBS does with a lot of its shows. If they make it thru season 2 and have a decent amount of episodes, they will give it at least 4 seasons or enough to get it into syndication, and then hope somebody buys it. That's why Madam Secretary was renewed.

Steve Jobs may not be completely wrong. I am positive that sometimes the weather people give us forecasts that are a lot worse than they really are, so that people will go out to the markets and wipe them out of food. Weather people are practically never fired for being wrong. I think studios are giving people what

I'm glad you're okay with the way things are going in the TV business. I'm not. You think(or just said) that I'm not upset about CANCELLATIONS? I'm VERY UPSET when shows I like get cancelled. What a stupid comment. We should continue this next year when season 3 of the Expanse is on. We'll see what the ratings are

I just put my opinion out there(and facts if I have them) and certain people want to pick fights over things I say. This isn't anything new. This has happened with Pitch, 12 Monkeys, Mysteries of Laura, and plenty of other shows. There are a lot of people out there who don't think ratings should matter anymore, and I
