Well actors and comedians right now keep getting that pass, and the only difference is they’re paid + better at it on average.

They’re different because context, intent, and jest exist as concepts.

I never said they were being good people, just that being a piece of shit edgelord is not necessarily the same as someone who harbors actual racist beliefs that another group is inferior, or theirs is the best because...something something...ancestors lived in one part of the world for generations.

Manual review would definitely be better, but I wonder the scale of doing that given the sheer volume and spam of Twitch.

I remember reading about their endorsement system before, but haven’t frankly played Overwatch in a long enough time to get an idea of it in action. I do think offering ways to report positive feedback, tie rewards to it and/or showcase those who are positive does more good at curbing toxicity than suspensions or bans.

Context, previous chat (which I assume they can log), do they actually harass people of those racial groups on the platform, etc.

You can think whatever you want, but I just don’t accept your paraphrasing of my initial comment. You’re assuming they’re only being racist, I’m just acknowledging some are pretending to be for attention or a reaction (which they get). To assume there are not any trolls on twitch making taboo comments or posting taboo

Yes, I will pass off some of this as “edgy”, because those people do exist. There will always be people who make offensive statements to groups as a joke or to get attention...but not actually believe what they say. Some people will post offensive things about their own race for fun, and others even think race is a

And you’re riding on assumptions that threat of removal will make people just behave and Twitch will somehow purge every bad person? Are they going to create omniscient tools that monitor every stream, pick up on all the proper context behind what people say to cull only the bad individuals with no flaws? Literally

As someone else posted, tell that to all actors ever, and throw in comedians too.

No, I’m just being realistic, and I don’t consume any content from Twitch to care much about it as a platform.

If you need to feel hospitable in a place like Twitch, where the incentive to get paid is to get more users, and the larger streamers have a constant barrage of chat...I just don’t see how it’s possible to avoid this stuff completely.

It’s a port...just call it a “good”, “console UI” or “full-ass” port.

Yeah, I’m not really seeing much to get excited about other than people like Kojima and it’s high budget looking.

Would be curious to see if anyone in the actual band cares about this.

I mean Iron Maiden still regularly sells out tours, and gets younger people into their shows without irony.

Aesthetics of the game are quite nice, especially the effects related to the shadowy liquid...things. Seems like they’re making good use expanding on Guerrilla Games’s engine.

Seen him try to debate before, and hard pass. He makes Ben Shapiro look like a genius by comparison, and I’m not even a conservative. Too many emotional appeal arguments, and too little data to back them up.

Likely Rage 2 for the most part. Didn’t get the chance to really play any of it during a busy work week about to end in a few hours.

I liked Rage 1 enough, but really like the over the top direction they’re going with the 2nd one where apparently it’s having a baby with Bulletstorm.  Just weird guns and powers to make the general gameplay more interesting, and matching the story tone to that vs. the 1st game taking itself far too seriously for a
