When was this blog not political?  I have been reading this for years and there has always been political posts followed by comments like yours complaining to stick to cars.

American never opens these up. However I usually wait to select a seat and even check in until all the regular seats are taken. Then I get assigned to one of the seats with extra let room for free when I check in. of course this only works well on 2x2 seating where you don’t have to worry about getting a middle seat.

It definitely involves a trip to the DMV. They need to validate your identity. If just use the passport until you have to go anyway depending on how awful your DMV is.

That is Metrolink. I think their issue is that the tracks between the freight yards south of downtown and Fullerton are the main line owned by BNSF to Chicago and are full of freight trains during the evening and night time hours. That might be resolved with separated tracks when (and if) the HSR project makes it’s way…

LAX has great destinations and great weather. It is the the southwest corner of the country so weather is often nice for connecting airports so flights are mostly on time. And yet, it is still too high on this list.

The practical solution would be to require a 220VAC 50A outlet in the garage near where a car charger would go. That would add less than $50 to any new home and save someone from a later large cost that could persuade them not to purchase an EV

Yeah. I don't understand why this isn't a more popular thing. Electric vehicle sucks for road trips, but add in a genset trailer and you get extra storage and range a few times a year you need it.
