I actually lived there for years. My favourite part was when the yellow fog would descend upon the city and City Hall / the pulp companies would call it an ‘inversion’, or when the whole downtown would smell like burning rotten eggs in the middle of the night and no one would say a thing. Great outdoor sports, though…

My jr high school received periodic bomb threats - I assume it’s because someone wanted the afternoon off because the cops never found evidence of anything. After 3 in the same semester the teachers didn’t even bring us outside - they just herded us all into the gym.
