Manga became popular in Japan because long commute times existed on public transportation so people needed something to pass the time. Manga became the filler of that need, and became something that a wide variety of people can enjoy.

There are many people who reach legendary in HS that don't pay in, or at least don't pay in much. A few Legendaries per deck (many legendaries fit in multiple decks). it's rough but not impossible
