That is in fact why. Police reports and mugshots are one of the things that are open public records in Florida.

I think the ubiquity of Florida Man has something to do with the public access of mugshots in FL. For every story of a dumb criminal in Florida there’s a picture to go with it, which makes for more entertaining articles. I don’t think other states make the mugshots so easily accessible.

Does that make death graduation? I find that strangely comforting.

It’s always amazing to me that Florida has by far the most robust open-records laws in the country, so much so that you’re sometimes taken aback at the sorts of things that must be publicly released whether or not there are arguably good reasons not to.

Is there anyone here watching this show who has never read the comics? I can’t imagine how confusing this show must be for them. I’m shocked HBO put out a show that’s so heavily reliant on the viewers having a big knowledge of the source material.
