I think all of my family cars from that period had them. (Volvo, Audi, Renault) . Just image searched ‘C pillar vent’ on google. And they are there to extract air from the cabin. I remember that they were replaced by hidden vents in later models.

Vents in general? I think all cars have them, they are just hidden today.
