All the quotes and stances attributed in that article are to Giuliani. When asked directly, special counsel’s office issued a “no comment.” I don’t think we can trust anything Guiliani says, let alone have him speak for Robert Mueller.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Mueller technically never said he wouldn’t indict a sitting president. The theory is that since Mueller is a rule follower, he wouldn’t break precedent with DOJ rules. But I can’t recall a quote from special counsel regarding this.

Excellent point, and one I forgot to mention in my post. Mueller definitely was after Stone’s various devices to compile more information.

Stone’s not flipping, but that’s fine because Mueller doesn’t want or need him to. From what I’m reading, the Stone indictment is referred to as a “pregnant indictment.” I.e., it’s not saying as much as it could or should, and there’s a lot more left to hang over Stone’s head as far as prosecutable offenses. Mueller
