What’s so unbelievably frustrating about this season of Westworld is how spectacularly rushed it is, and how severely that’s damaged what little remains of the ethical and philosophical dilemmas it originally pivoted around, when I really have no clue why it needed to be so fast-paced, or what could possibly have made

This show is getting close to unwatchable. Seems to be channeling the worst part of the Matrix sequels with a dash of half assed psychohistory.

Something is up with the scene where Liam dies under the pier.

So it it time to start making some predictions for this season

Bit of a stinker for me. Everything seemed ham fisted and lacked the subtly this show usually displays. Genre stuff was dumb, action scene lacked any thrills, and just beat us over the head with already established themes.

I really miss my twice a week boxing session. It’s such a wonderful release of tension.

Me too! I made a floor to ceiling bag that goes in my open door frame though. I tied a bag stuffed with towels to my pull up bar (while traveling I have used large G clamps but those may be hard to find in the apocalypse instead of the bar) so its at eye level and tied the other end to a box full of books on the

I voted for Warren because unlike Bernie who just shouts out ideas with little regard for how it will actually happen, Warren backed hers up with solid plans and data. It wasn’t all just wanting to hear the sound of her own voice.

Perhaps, but can you imagine the uproar if a well-liked candidate failed their psych or physical evaluation and was told they couldn’t run? We already have enough conspiracy theories and distrust of the system. I think that would surpass the threshold for tolerance.

I think a series of tests would be much more suspectible to bias or manipulation. We already have an age cap minimum, so it seems like it just makes sense to set a maximum as well.

But that doesn’t match up with any of the “rules” as they’ve been given to us.

Marc’s existential spirals in the first 10 minutes of every episode are pretty much the only reason I’m there.

It’ll be a different version of 2016's (also untrue) “they’re both equally bad, so I might as well vote for my party”

Yeah but they taste like dog shit compared to how they used to taste

All the scenes between Ellen Burstyn and the doctors (in The Exorcist) are still the high bar for that sort of thing.

If nothing else, I really loved all the scenes of the protagonists trying to wrap their minds around what is happening, being in denial, and now having lots of possibilities in front of them. I don’t think a down-to-earth story rocked by supernatural forces has ever done that element better than this show.

I mostly remember him from Short Attention Span Theater and his couch sessions with Dr. Katz.

I’m old enough to remember when Marc Maron was a fresh-faced young man appearing on Comics Come Home with Denis Leary.

Gotta say, prefer grizzled old-man Maron infinitely more.

My only regular exposure to Maron is GLOW and so I’m a little surprised to see him not yelling dyspeptically. Here it’s more of a quiet, calm dyspepsia.
