I agree with this. I introduced my daughter to super heroes, she started getting complaints at school that she was being too rough, so there went super heroes. I'm going to try introducing her to some mild NES games via the Wii VC and see how that goes next. She's almost five and is familiar with the Wii controller

Haven't you covered on Lifehacker before, at least from commenters who should know, that power outlets can't be flush with a desk because a spill could get in and short things out?

So you're pretty much just like me, but several years from now (because I'm not married yet, and children aren't in my immediate future). We run a tight ship and the only thing killing us financially right now are things related to our upcoming wedding. Once that is over and paid off, it'll be smooth sailing

Exactly. Me and my wife were pooling assets prior to being married. I was helping pay off her credit cards like two years before we got married (and we were not even living together). Originally, she made more money than me because it took me a year out of college to get a job (got married 6 weeks after I graduated

I make nearly twice as much as my soon-to-be-spouse but it hasn't really created a "rift". We're not married yet but have had the majority of our money pooled into a shared checking account and it's been working out fine. We keep track of every purchase with an Excel spreadsheet that I'm more of the "manager" of and I

For me it's the opposite. The idea of sharing everything is alien to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to play devil's advocate or argue that one way is better than the other for everyone. It's all up to the couple and their preferences and philosophies. But I will explain my personal views for what they are worth.

Yesss, I would love if Alton Brown answered these!!

My favorite is the 1 star rating with a glowing review about it. I couldnt count how many times I've read a highly positive review about a product, but the reviewer gave it 1 star.

And the ones tht leave a bad review because the app don't do more than what is statedin the description. Example: the app decription says "this app will let you find local deal in nyc" well if the description says nyc why someone from SF will download it and give it a bad review because the app only find deals in NYC.

I believe it's the same as with the other apps in that the phone is basically just the remote for the Chromecast, which tells the Chromecast to "grab" the video and then plays it.

Get it. You'll love it. It's only $35 (sometimes even $30) and already is compatible with HBO Go, Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, Pandora, Songza and Plex, plus more. Hopefully now it'll get Watch ESPN and Amazon Instant, but it's already well worth it.

Sunbutter is a great replacement for peanut butter in recipes!

Just be aware: if it's a recipe that uses baking soda, add a little lemon juice or the sunbutter will turn the finished product green*! It's a lovely shade of green, very emerald, and I often do it on purpose… but it's startling if you're not expecting it.

My son has a severe nut allergy, so we use Sunbutter (made with Sunflower Seeds). Our house is nut free, so we all live with the restriction. My 2 schoolage kids have been given options of what they want to have for lunch, but they always choose Sunbutter and Jam. They do choose different Jams.

I like cuccumbers sliced just like that. But, if your kids don't either don't use them or provide ranch or seasoned rice vinegar, tomatoes, and feta cheese to make cucumber salad (which my about to be 9 year old loves).

I could never eat veggies as a kid, super fussy. I eat them now though. But do kids really like raw veggies? Raw carrots for example seems to be something you really have to have your heart set on to eat a bunch of them. They are nearly tasteless, they are hard as hell, there seems to be a massive effort for little to

Roasted potatoes. Quartered and seasoned with salt, smoked paprika and garlic powder. Perfect with roasted chicken. And if your oven is big enough, you roast both together. It takes about the same time anyway.

It is a serious bummer that nothing of this sort exists in oregon. I'd be insterested in starting one up, but how would you gauge interest before investing in startup?
