A bench grinder is fine, but from my experience, dremels do a pretty uneven job (primarily due to their size). If you have a bench grinder, go for it. I don’t have one, so I have to stick with the hand method. So long as you know what you’re doing, you shouldn’t have any issues with heat/tempering.
