Something I haven't seen the others suggest... Replace the air filter. If you're noticing it when the air turns on, you probably have smoke in the filter. Check your car's manual (or download it) and see what kind of filter you need. It should cost you ~$20 and if you can operate a screw driver you can easily swap

While I'm an avid Gizmodo reader, but I far prefer your summary approach to the events. Personally, I find the constant flood of updates a little annoying. It hides all the other great articles, and if I wanted wanted to know every last minutia, I would watch or listen to the live stream myself.

I don't think you'd need to color the liquid. It'll look normal in a white wine bottle, and any other would come in a darker glass bottle. Vinegar is a couple dollars for an entire gallon will never have algae or anything else nasty grow in it. Seems worth it.
