I was a scout not all that long ago and we had at least 1 a month. We were actually doing far to many trips to the point where we actually had to start putting limits down because people where burning out and it was just costing too much money.

Block size is also very much worth paying attention too. If you're dealing with primarily large files, a larger block size can reduce read time and work on the drive. On the flip side, if the files are primarily documents, you probably want the smaller block size or you'll waste a lot of space doing that.
I don't usually like whining about new layouts, but I have to say, the preview layout confuses me. Is there a reason that your developers feel the need to constantly bring out new layouts? They're all glitchy and rather confusing...
Of course it isn't a right, but a child doesn't distinguish between what is a right and what is a privilege. In their mind, it's a hostage situation.
I would love to see this baked into Android natively.
Weird, that wouldn't have worked in my household. I never had to pay for things "in house". Sure I got money for doing the chores, but if chores weren't done I certainly wasn't allowed to play video games or watch tv.
With children, I start with assuming that they can reasonably handle screen time and the like with a reasonable amount of guidance. If they show they can't, or become problematic, then of course those activities will be restricted until they earn those privileges back.
I love typing on a das, but still prefer the split layout. If they made a split keyboard I'd practically throw my cards at them...
My chores weren't tied explicitly to my allowance, but if I didn't do my weekly chores I wouldn't have gotten the allowance. So I didn't finish one and get my 'token' when I finished.
Why can't they give him money?
I don't like the idea of taking things hostage. Wouldn't a better system be to give it to the child, and then remove it if they fail to accomplish the expected responsibility?
Dogs can be a good source of exercise. Even on my laziest of days, it's hard to ignore my dogs begging eyes...
If it's all junk, why not delete it?
I have a fairly nice shredder that sits next to my desk. I often shred a lot of trash paper so it takes less room in the recycling bin. Plus, then what's important is even harder to reconstitute since there's a lot more fluff.
That's an interesting point of view; thank you for sharing it in such detail.
I'm in the US, I swear we're not all gigantic, selfish assholes!
The idea of totally separate accounts is alien to me. My parents had one set of accounts and all money was "our" money. My dad made more money, but my mom worked less to take care of me. This kind of system seems to imply that my father's say would be more important than in the budget.
Interesting, I've always been kind of resistant to the idea of not having all the data stored locally. Keeping insurance and bank information with companies like that has just never sit right with me :-/
What's the benefit to using Evernote over something like OneNote?
I would also love to see Alton Brown do a post on this!
