All fame is capricious, so seeing the old-money famouses get uppity about these nouveax-riches famouses is pretty funny. They’re just worried that associating with these people who got famous wrong will reveal how meaningless and shallow it all is. The world is changing, though I’m sure gatekeeping “the way things

It seems like half the guest list is just “flavor of the month” anyway. The Gala lost any class it might have once had when the Kardashians were invited.

I’m sure they’ve had worse guests.

Jezebel:  All the news that fits from 2019.

Who knew?

Hey, the job description says write snarky one-sentence comments that link to other websites. It doesn’t say anything about actually reading the articles.

I've been in array of MRI machines (the department has been moving buildings so its almost like a different machine each time) and I can vouch that some of them make noises that are neither rythmic nor mediative so much as they are extremely aggressive and vaguely alarming 😆

I’ve had several MRIs, and am claustrophobic—I deal by putting a cloth over my eyes and listening to music (I think it’s common to let you bring in a CD if you’d like). I can get pretty comfortable in there, and now I think I want to take an edible before my next one ;-).

I also fall asleep in MRIs. I had one on my wrist lately that made me have to lay down kind of awkwardly. When I was done my half hour of laying on my stomach with my arm out like superman, the staff said: “most people don’t manage to stay still that long during this one” and I was like “oh, I fell asleep like three

Can you get an “open” MRI? I don’t like you feeling that discomfort!

Yep. When I had my MRI, I was stuffed into that tube like a sausage, with both my arms wedged against the sides. And I am claustrophobic, so it was easily the worst medical experience of my life.

Not usually claustrophobic but MRIs kinda freak me out. The problem is I’m a larger lump of flesh and I really do just barely fit in the tube. Pretty disconcerting.

Both MRIs I just closed my eyes and almost fell asleep.

I’m not claustrophobic, but I have had two MRIs done, I think the problem would be more the amount of noise, like a fog horn at some points.

I’m jealous you can wear Litas with arthritis! I couldn’t wear them when my feet were perfectly fine. May I ask you how do you deal with your arthritis? I’m getting surgery to remove my bone spur next week (scared as hell) but footwear and orthotics haven’t been helpful for me at all. Everyone suggests Hokas all the

I have a similar pair of boots I wore through the 90s that are entirely red glitter. (I refuse to throw them out. They’re shelf art now.)

This.

I am 40 and have zero recollection of these every being popular in the mainstream. Perhaps I blinked or…closed my eyes...

Listen, I love this style and I own several pair. I will not hear any talk of this being ugly or unattractive. Wear them proud.
