Not so sure about DD's creative team thinking they wouldn't get a S2. The show seemed designed for bloodletting from Day 1. A street level, urban crime drama with mobsters and whatnot is going to have a body count or it's going to seem perfunctory.

"Jack's a jerk and Carter briefly sunk to his level and Hayley Atwell did a great job showing that it certainly wasn't Peggy's proudest moment."
Nah. Arrow has had a pretty good record on who they hire behind the camera, compared to similar shows. They were excited about the stunt coordinator because he's in their family. It has nothing to do with anyone's gender. Not this show. Not this time.
I had to look it up but, in giving credit where it is due, the director was Charlotte Brändström. She's no rookie and she's an international (French-Swede). I'm glad she swung through the Flarrowverse.
Indeed! And, again, no slight to Addai-Robinson. I just think she was miscast. She was good for Arrow's version but Arrow's version wasn't good for me.
I thought the Oliver/Felicity scenes were fantastic. They were sweet, funny in a two-layer self-awareness, believable, and well-acted. They were far better than the tech/military/spy-fi details, so much that my normal pet peeve was squashed into mild annoyance.

"though as Amanda Waller actors go, she and everyone else are always going to be chasing Justice League Unlimited’s C.C.H. Pounder"
"His arguments/opinions continue to be more well articulated than the people pushing against them, I say."
I find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
I got the vibe of Thompson walking into the heart of darkness in order to kill it, too. Or he's drawn to the power. Either way, I don't think he makes it out (a) a good guy or (b) alive.
Absolutely nothing wrong with Viola. She's impeccable. Still, though, CCH Pounder has basically been studying for the role for over a decade. Alas, she carries less star power and is older than Viola. So, I see why they cast her but my love for CCH's Waller will never, ever die.
Personally, I'm going to stump for Pegg teasing Howard by taking his drink away and leading him with it. However, yes, Sousa's line was great and sublimely read by Enver (which isn't uncommon with him in anything he does).
"In the case of the historicity of the Howling Commandos, I'd submit that their commitment to diversity beyond tokenism makes their (admittedly fictional) work a representation of the best of us"
Dude, go watch the damn interviews. She's a riot IRL.
Ooo! I think the first possibility is best. He's certainly playing that role at the moment. And, really, Kurtwood Smith should be in everything. Even if it's just to drop a random "Dumbass!" comment and walk off.
I'm fairly certain the majority of complaints don't suggest he hates the show and us. You're using hyperbole to refute an argument which does not exist, just as you've suggested earlier that those complaints are rooted in anti-progressive sentiment.
"Sava spends like [4 bordering on 5 full] paragraphs on race related thoughts and opinions"
Oh, I got sucked into a ranty comment hole on his DD reviews (Daredevil has always been my favourite comic book superhero so I felt qualified to go almost Full Frontal Fanboy). Since then, I've given up any thought of involved criticism. He is what he is and writes what he writes. I'm just howling at the moon…
'Here, Howard! Who's a good Howard? Here, boy!' (or to that effect)
