Excuse me, but I will be making a “Solo” Starring Mario Van Peebles joke, thank you very much! 😌

I’ll admit Dancer in the Dark is impressive to an extent and Dogville is an interesting exercise. Breaking the Waves lost me at its comical final shot. Antichrist was a farce and a slap in the face to Andrei Tarkovsky, whom he dedicated the film to. Von Trier has talent but it’s funneled through a toxic worldview.

Have they ever heard of quality over quantity?

On a related note, Von Trier is an overrated director too.

It’s already an anthem for people who think being rich is the ultimate goal of being human. Hustling and grinding are being codified to mean “fuck you, I’m gonna get mine.” There’s a feminist angle many are latching onto, which I guess is good, but the song just seems like the wrong mentality we need in Trump’s

Just to bring some disturbing historical context into this, that’s exactly what some slave masters would do to their biggest and strongest slaves. They would sodomize them in front of the others to “prove” their power and strike fear into them. This shit goes round and round.

Just like how he ruined the words “excuse me.”

Hamill is different in each Star Wars movie to his credit. He starts as dopey farm boy then frustrated student who is in over his head then weathered and wisened Jedi. It’s actually the best arc of the whole trilogy.

Poor poor Harvey Weinstein. If he was a Republican and running for office, a large enough contingent wouldn’t give a shit about what he did. Should’ve started a campaign to get ahead of it.

Fast Five’s secret weapon is composer Brian Tyler, who had his breakout with this score. Before he was just the guy who scored shitty AVP movies. After this he bagged Iron Man 3 and got on the radar. Listen to his music during the vault heist and try not to get pumped. It’s all banging percussion and furious

6 is glorious fun, 7 crosses the finish line bc of good will for Paul Walker, 8 is just too dumb to exist.

I’d like to see this feature done on Horror movies. Make it happen!

I’m more disturbed that TBBT is a multi cam show and Young Sheldon is single cam. How does that make sense?! Is it a flashback and Sheldon thinks without a laugh track or two camera setup? CBS continues to confound.

Speaking of which, where is Solaris 2002 on this list?

Oblivion is underrated. That’s some fun big budget, romantic sci-fi.

I wish the ending of Thirteenth Floor was better. It needs like ten more minutes leading up to the end. One of the alternate endings is more provocative. And Craig Bierko and Gretchen Mol deserve to be in more movies.

Jesse has the right idea. Most of the calls against AI usually stem from a fundamental misunderstanding of what the movie is about and what it’s trying to achieve.

I can’t believe Gattaca is still so underrated. I’ve been repping that movie for 20 years!

Just like Harry Knowles!
