I get the feeling that the headline should read “James Gunn Seems to Think Marvel Owns Some Skrulls”. He’s not in charge of anything, or a lawyer, and these rights issues are so nebulous, they get decided in the negotiations and are constantly shifting and changing. I don’t think Gunn is the most reliable source on

I think his faces have always been a bit similar. I don’t think his Marvel work is all that bad, but I agree that it’s not the same legendary quality it was in his Vertigo prime.

“Jesse, do you love me?”

The word “ghetto” is derived from the Italian word for foundry. In Venice in the 1500s, all the Jews were relocated to live in the part of town that was filled with noxious fumes from the metalwork.

First off: Cool! This looks rad.

The whole family is in the ruins of Doom’s castle from Secret Wars! You mostly see Reed, Franklin and Alex Power but Sue, Valeria, Bentley, Dragon-man and all the others are there too! They’re just creating the multiverse and being a big family.

Yeah, I found a higher resolution image and spotted the gold eyes. I miss Gamora’s cool hood nad cloak look!

For what it’s worth, there is a real Professor of Comics out there. His name is Professor Ben Saunders and he teaches at the University of Oregon. I teach a high school class based on his college curriculum. He’s a really cool dude, and way more knowledgable than me.

1) That’s def Odinson. Old Franklin hasn’t shown up since Hickman left Marvel. I’ve got a feeling we’ll see him again when another writer picks that up in 4 or 5 years.

These images usually tease the big meta-story, which has little to do tonally with individual books. I’m certain that Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man and all the other fun books will remain unchanged, but the next event looks pretty dark in a Kamala Khan vs Doctor Doom kinda way.

In Jason Aaron’s #1, the axe is one of a bunch of magical artifacts that Strange dug out of a closet in the sanctum sanctorum.

I figured you felt that way, I just wanted to add my two cents about corperate greed.

A convenient excuse! Yeah, I know a lot of stuff got reshuffled, I’m worried about the next reshuffle after Fazeka and Butters have come out with 12 issues, half of them Civil War tie-ins. It makes me wary of buying issues, I’d much rather devour a couple of trades these days.

Yeah, the irony is I’m defending these Cap books in the name of decency, but in the grand scheme of comics (or even just marvel) they’re a’ight. Not even as good as Spencer’s other comics. Morning Glories? Hell yeah. Ant-Man? Amazing! Superior Foes of Spider-Man? An all time classic.

I like the last thing you said in particular, that the company should suffer and not the employees. It’s what makes me (good naturedly, in a “we’re having an adult conversation” kind of way) disagree with the boycott.

Probably me too- which is why it drives me so crazy to see it invoked here when I’m pretty sure the opposite is what is happening? Since when is it gatekeeper-y to want someone to read the comic/watch the show/see the movie? It’s the people who don’t seem really interested in engaging the media who are removing

And not to get all “back in my day” but remember when people were secure enough in their opinions to just have them? None of this trying to rally everyone onto your VERY POLITICALLY IMPORTANT platforms. Just “that one comic is stupid, I’m gonna read a different comic”.

That’s true. I love that dynamic. That’s a weird book (what with all the Alpha Flight crew) but I love the setting, the logistics. And you know what’s holding me back? Is the thought that the second Marvel decides the books sales are below where they could be they’ll cancel it and suddenly there will be no mention of

Daisy Johnson has an unipeachable record as head of SHIELD. Though she didn’t serve very long before the senate decided she was too young.
