Nope, that seems to be the precise set up of Thunderbolts, which is not a perfect book, but I’m one 90s kid enjoying the hell out of it. It’s cool that Kobik ended up in Bucky’s care, considering his past relationship with the cosmic cube.

It sounds to me like you may have missed the Great Captroversy of 2016. The reaction of the people who were offended (who I am still convinced did not read the comic) was more than not liking something. There’s a call for a boycott, there’s a hashtag going around. Nick Spencer, who is a darling man with progressive,…
And he probably will, the story’s not over yet. This is an unfortunate side effect of decompressed storytelling. The sort of story that a 1963 comic could tell in 22 pages now takes 6 issues. But much as you wouldn’t close a 60s Superman comic in disgust, I’m confident that by the end of the story, Steve Rogers will…
I saw kids on Tumblr calling for Spencer to get fired and suggesting they give the Steve Rogers book to that progressive guy writing the Sam Wilson: Captain America book. You know, the same guy. SMH.
ME TOO! I got called a gatekeeper for suggesting that people read the comic if they wanted to criticize it! And I may have taken it very personally, but that’s only because I feel like this is MADNESS. I’m trying to be the opposite of a gatekeeper! To get more people actually reading the comics. Discouraging (read:…
I mentioned that on another comics site I frequent. Someone called me a gatekeeper and explained why I was ruining the culture of comics and there was plenty of reason to object to the issue. I pressed, and remain convinced that the person never read the issue.
I’m cutting people loose over this. It’s one big circle jerk. I’ve got a friend, a bit younger than myself, who is boycotting Captain America, Orange is the New Black and a couple of other works of media (and encouraging me too) over this and that slight. I asked her what her textual evidence for being upset with…
But then who will head SWORD? I love Abigail Brand (she’s one of my main soldiers in XCOM 2 along with Quentin Quire) and one of the things I love is her intense competence running this essential but seemingly underfunded offshoot of SHIELD that never gets shut down even though SHIELD gets disolved every other year.
I kind of like that about Maria Hill. If I recall, she first appeared in the confusingly named “Nick Fury’s Secret War” (confusing because it was not the other three comics called “Secret Wars”, and was probably the one that earned that title the most). She was set up to represent the kind of commander the Bush…
Yeah, I ain’t new to the biz, you’re probably right. But it’s frustrating to not have something like that communicated. And that strategy has been a disaster for Runaways, who haven’t even had a real attempt at an ongoing in something like 10 years.
With you on All New Wolverine; in fact it’s probably my favorite ongoing title Marvel is currently doing. I also dig Hopeless’s All New X-Men. That’s a fun book giving page time to deserving X-kids like Idie and Evan.
Marvel is doing very well right now by most ways I can think of to measure it. They are publishing diverse titles (I mean in terms of subgenre and tone). I’d say they have more good books coming out monthly than bad ones. But those bad ones are pretty unsurprising. Was there really a call for a Black Knight book (I…
It’s funny, I was ranting a few months ago about how Marvel was talking a big talk but not putting out the books that new fans wanted to read. I used the Squadron Supreme books as an example- who the hell wants to read about Marvel’s D-List Justice League? People want to read about America Chavez.
Basically, he’s heading off accusations of racism by saying that this version of Wong is not subservient to Strange, because he acts as a mentor, and he doesn’t know martial arts, he’s a master of magic because Asian martial arts masters are racist (but Celtic ones are not IDK). The real question is does Wong:

Really!? With the patter and the lip-syncing and the quick cuts? That seemed classic Wright! I’m super surprised. Was that on the special features or something? Ant Man is one of the few MCU movies I don’t own a disc of yet.
I think it’s clear that Luis was a leftover from Edgar Wright’s script. He’s such a Wright character and the fast-talking flashbacks were 100% a Wright gag.
Oh yeah, it’s coming back to me now. It was a while ago that I read it, but you are right. I don’t have a lot of experience with any washer/dryers/cleaning machines that aren’t card/coin operated; I’m a New Yorker.
Speaking as a grown-ass man who owns the hoodie, I can confirm that it’s great civilian wear.
I think they should do a redux of Nextwave starring the best of the Z-Listers. Planet Terry could come, I’m thinking Ulysses Archer is a must, with his space truck. I guess this is my fantasy so NFL Superpro is on the team. They are of course led by The Captain (his name is The Captain).
I was trying to avoid spoilers but hell yeah, that was one of the most boss moves in the whole story. And how cool would it be for Coulson to chuck Daisy’s double agent boyfriend off a cliff? It would have been better if it could have been Lincoln (for those who haven’t noticed I HATED Lincoln) but I’m all for gritty…
