I completely agree. They have a place, just not around other cars. I had additional driving and fog lights setup on my Impreza for my 35 mile commute through the country and avoided deer easily while turning them off for the occasional oncoming traffic. I wish I could put a similar setup on my BRZ but I don't think

I have a 92 Subaru SVX sitting around with a about $7k into it and you can't tell unfortunately. It needs a second new transmission (don't ask) and it'll be at least drivable but I've run out of steam and money. I still haven't been able to bring myself to sell it after parking it 8 months ago. Who knew a grieving

I’m on Subaru #5 and all have remained bone stock including my wife's 05 FXT. I don't buy them for resale though it's just practical. Even my BRZ will stay stock. I may have to put a different engine and transmission in my SVX though just to keep it going.

I don’t understand why that doesn’t make sense to more people.

The gear ratio skews that number a little too. Second gear doesn't turn quite 60mph so you have to shift into third adding more time around 58mph. The gears are close allowing you to do more with that 200hp than one would normally assume.

I think a factory turbo at 300hp would be at least $10k more from the factory. I think most people lose sight of how affordable this car is. I bought mine fully loaded with performance package well under $30k. If you want a power to weight ratio of a ZO6 Corvette or a zL1 Camaro you are more than double the cost of a

I had a complicated relationship with an RS wagon. I still fantasize about my wife's FXT. She doesn't know to what extent though, I don't want to feel awkward.

I almost burnt a loaner to the ground over this issue on a trip. It also put quite a strain on my marriage. It was so bad it was hitting the brakes every time someone passed me and merged in front of me continuing to out accelerate me.

As someone who operates boom pump trucks and concrete mixers I don't understand how someone does something like that. Unfortunately those types of things involving equipment happen more than you might think but fortunately few people end up getting hurt. The near catastrophies I've witnessed at times keep me up at

I work with a guy that raves about the cheese from Tillamook but he's never talked about this before.

But each car has a unique soul of it's own and needs to be appropriately paired to it's human counterpar...crap, I must have missed vaccination day.

I agree about living in the woods with cars. I’m on 20 acres of trees with no garage in the southeast and summer thunderstorms raise my blood pressure. As to the personality, my SVX has more sass than a middle school dance. My former golf TDI was a grumpy old pipe smoker. If it doesn't have personality I don't buy it.

Just a little bit pregnant

But you don't release a program in beta to the public and make it a standard. It needs to be ready for prime time and regulation is moving faster than technology can keep up making everything problematic. Get the technology right, release it and then set a regulation standard once it's proven to be reliable.

When the government forces unrealistic policy that's what happens. I manage a locally owned fleet and all it takes is a few years if that and maintenance costs on higher emission trucks are more than trucks decades old.

It’s not free market anymore when you put severe restrictions on it to make profit margins so small only super fleets can turn profits simply by massive volume.

Tightening the noose on the trucking industry causes everyone to lose. Forcing higher emissions kills fuel economy driving up operating costs higher on top of the more expensive an maintenance intensive technology. I have tested the waters of higher emissions with buying a new road tractor this year and it gets two

I completely agree.

I guess I got used to Spartan trucks growing up that didn't have arm rests because I haven't felt that my BRZ needed one. I have a 35 mile commute one way. The wheel and shifter are in the perfect spot for quick seamless shifts while comfortably keeping both hands on the wheel.

It goes beyond pickup trucks. You don't need a special license to drive a motorhome while pulling a car trailer. Unfortunately you can't license out stupid. I say that being a commercial driver and as someone who operates a commercial diesel shop. The things I've seen...
