Do you mean of the generation I refer to, of of the current generation? I think I agree and prefer Rios of the current generation more than Accents of the current generation in terms of styling. :)

Some of their more recent engines have had issues yes. I’ve not denied that. Their most recent cars haven’t had any issues that I know of, but there were a string of 1.6L engines from 2012-2016 or so that had issues.

People consider Subaru a great brand and they are top of the charts right now (especially in owner

Glad to hear somebody else with a nice opinion of these little cars! I bought my 2009 Accent hatch used in 2013 with 54,000kms on it for $6990 Canadian all-in (taxes, everything) at a local Mazda dealership....base model, manual everything, no A/C, no Cruise, no ABS, no anything (it does have a radio and speakers

May I suggest the 2006-2010 Hyundai Accent / Kio Rio twins then? People harp on them for being cheap, plasticky, basic and boring, but I’m biased towards them as I have a 2009 Accent hatch base model with NO options and it’s a competent little car! I’ve never had anything major go wrong with it other than maintenance

R.I.P. Mr. Haynes...I have enjoyed, though not yet used the fruits of your labor as I do not own one of my favorite cars yet, but last year I purchased one of your books and I’ll be ready when the day comes with your help...

“Fiat felt compelled to introduce it on their next big mass-market car, the 1969 Fiat 128 (and, in the rear, on the 126.)

As a massive fan of small two-cylinder FIATs, I’m a bit confused here. The 126 didn’t have a side-mounted transmission? Yes, it was rear-engined, but the 126 was based on the prior 500 and had the

I understand the difference in the needs of their market versus ours and that people here are hauling things like ATVs, etc on a more regular basis. You’re certainly right in that sense.

My point was more toward the fact that you said they “aren’t trucks” - it’s THAT which I thought was a bit of a disservice. Their

Engine-wise maybe, but compared to North America, elsewhere in the world small and kei-size even smaller trucks are the norm doing the same jobs. We have it in our heads trucks need to be tough and large and manly and powerful to be capable of doing a job. Yes, in direct comparison a RAM/F150/Tundra/Silverado/Sierra,

Japanese 660cc Kei trucks with max 64hp would like a word as well.

Forgive me for this question as I don’t own an EV. I’m interested in their increase in progress. But one question has always bothered me....while any EV is charging at a charging point, unless you’re around...what’s to stop anybody from just walking up, unplugging the cable at both ends and walking away with it as a

As a FIAT fan, I like the 124! :P

I have a 2009 Hyundai Accent hatchback and it has not gone wrong once in the 5 years I’ve owned it and 100,000kms other than maintenance items! :)

Nice post Jason! Love seeing updates on this little thing! :)

At least my FIAT 126p won’t have any gas struts of any kind when I eventually get around to importing it...

I knew you’d like it! Very neat little car! I also thought the interior had a very nice minimalistic but very useful feel to it. It may be a slab of a dash, but it still looks good!

“...that a 1-year-old cat-resident of Nova Scotia named Baloo had sneaked into a package containing tire rims and was subsequently shipped to Nova Scotia...”

If this happens, I hope Canada decides to conform to European safety ratings / etc and allow the sales of cars from there and the rest of the globe....just because the US is closing off the market doesn’t mean it (hopefully) will affect us...

Will a manual be offered as an option with both engines?

The question is....who was so bored that they discovered this in the first place? Who sat there, looked at a roll of TP, looked at their Fitness Tracker and then thought...”Yes, I will put this tracker on that toilet paper for no reason.”

Yup, was in a hurry, so didn’t bother to dig into the Character Map to find the right character with the Umlaut. :)

You still see the Asuna-badged Sidekicks around up here every so often, but anything Asuna-badged is getting pretty rare these days.

I have an original Passport Brochure from the whole Passport/Asuna debacle - the weird part is that Asunas WERE sold as Isuzus BEFORE Asuna was created. GM Canada had a special dealership
