Velocipedes. What a fantastic word. I am going to visit a non-motorized conveyance establishment on the morrow so I can request their salesman to produce with much haste their finest and most opulent velocipedes.

I met the guy who is in charge of the mobile google maps app, he said they take this stuff seriously and like user feedback.

I submitted a correction years ago to Google because Google Maps told users to take the 17 bridge to get across the James River from Newport News, VA. The correct way is to take the Ferry since bikes are not allowed on the bridge. About a year later they responded that I was right and made the correction. No reward,

Well I would hope she was in the left lane being Australia and all.

Just think how viciously people here would react to a story about a person congratulating a food service employee for not spitting in their food or thanking someone in a poor neighborhood for not robbing them. Even aside from the classist overtones of such a comment the person who said it would rightfully be ripped

How bout this, my aunt was riding with her boyfriend when they crashed. She didn’t want to wear a helmet but he made her to. Later they pulled rocks out of it.

Yep. To those anecdotes I usually pull the one from my childhood; where a kid in the neighborhood fell off a four wheeler going around 10mph (no helmet) and spent the rest of his life as a vegetable until his parents finally decided to pull the plug several years later.

If you’re not willing to wear a helmet while operating a car/truck/tractor/bicycle/horse/racing snail/etc. then you really have no business nannying a motorcyclist who chooses to let the wind flow through their hair.

I’m so confused by so many things in this video. What kind of behavior was she expecting? He was stuck behind her on a 2-lane road, the worst he could do is tailgate. Maybe if she encounters those types of drivers on such a regular basis that a “nice” driver requires her to leave her car and commend them the

Agreed. Looking at my grandfather (1925) I was amazed his license was renewed 2 years ago. I realize mobility is important, especially for older people, but someone who hasn’t driven faster than 80 kmh/50 mph since the 1980s, who can’t look over his shoulder or react within a second and who gets honked at every day he

Those of us with sons (me included) should take this to heart too, so that they’re supportive of the women and girls in their lives pursuing whatever they want, or at the very least so that they’re not part of the problem.

My wife and I are days away from having our first kid and it’s going to be a girl. I can’t wait to show her stories like this. My mentality is that if there is anything I hope to teach her it’s that she can do or be anything she wants to and tough has nothing to do with masculinity. Be proud, work hard, fail, get up,

People are fine with change.

Every time I’m on the highway I think of how much I want adaptive cruise control tbh.

People don’t like things that change.
