You do know that UI elements stay the same size on the retina display, just like they did on the iPhone 4 and the new iPad? Your eyes will not be strained as you cannot even select 2880*1800 as a desktop resolution.

It would come in handy for owners of 24" and 27" Cinema/Thunderbolt displays though...

Most people in Europe get at least 4 weeks vacation with pay and sometimes even more. Teachers in The Netherlands get around 12 weeks =)

2: Nikon shows with their 1-series cameras that a mirror box is not needed for PD-AF, as it can be integrated on the image sensor.

Apple might not be listed as a manufacturer on the Gorilla Glass website, but they really do use Gorilla Glass for the iPad screen and the iPhone 4(s) screen (not the back!). The Samsung not breaking is not because of the screen material, it's because of 1). other design factors (bezel) and 2). a little more good luck

He's not. I have no issues with iOS5 at all and neither do my iPhone 4-equipped friends. Maybe they didn't tell me, but since they always come to me for issues with tech, i think they would've told me if they had any issues.

They won't be using this as a Street View Camera car. The limited range of an EV would make it highly unsuitable for such purposes.

This camera doesn't even look smaller than the D700. The viewfinder housing might look lower but it really isn't. The rest of the camera is higher.

The pictures are definitely taken with a very shallow DoF. The grip is out of focus, just as some protruding elements (the red 'swoosh' and the front dial), the hot shoe and the back edge of the top LCD. This would also explain the 'disappearing' lines on the flash, wouldn't it?

1. The red stripe looks identical to the one on the D5100. I guess Nikon dropped the 'triangular' thing for some Nike-like swoosh

It's just a standard Nikon body cap...

So exactly how thin would that be? Or are there any thinner camera's which have a 14x zoom lens?

@WampaCow: if Verizon and Apple will announce a CDMA version of the iPhone 4, it will be a hybrid CDMA + GSM phone. The iPhone 5, due in june, will be too. Apple will not make a phone that doesn't work in 90% of the world, even if US citizens don't care about that :)

This thing is about as large as a 15" MacBook Pro and only $100 cheaper than a 13" MacBook. Why should i bother?

This method is actually pretty similar to the way they used to make CRT's with 'flat' displays. Ain't nothing more than a lens :)

@Hellaphunt: If these chips are pre-formed they would be stackable

The original walkman may be dead, but Sony does still make walkmans. They just don't play no casette tapes anymore :)

@Tyrunn: Well i might not be in the IT industry (where macs aren't very widespread indeed), but as someone who has grown up with mac (my father bought a Mac 512k in 1985) i can tell you that most of my friends have switched to using a mac in the last 2 years. And they're not anything like designers.

And what about Wireless USB? Hasn't that been in the works for quite a while now?
