I agree. That extra “j” raises questions. Is it supposed to be silent? Does it have to be there? I think it would be reasonable for her to spend three months in jail waiting for a chance to explain it.

it would not have been factually wrong, but can you see how it is both kind and accurate to refer to this woman simply as a woman, as she identifies?

Yeah I’m sad that I let out the briefest of gasps when I read the headline, then went straight back to “oh well this will probably get received just like everything else”.

I’m all for more gun control, and I also happen to enjoy going to the shooting range! And I don’t recall anyone texting me “hey poop face stop shootin’ them guns at the range, you’re ugly!”

This was a delightful exchange. I am jealous because when I talk to my dad I have been to hold my breath hoping that politics don’t come up. Every news headline that comes up I’m like “is this gonna be the thing that breaks his support????” and every time I’m disappointed. 

I remember when news like this might have been exciting or elicited some sense of hope.
