There are a lot of sounds on the Internet. Download some white & pink noise or whatever, open it up in audacity, edit the file (if needed), play in audacity with a loop. Easy, peasy, mac-n-cheesy!

You can make your own white noise and play it back in a loop using Audacity.

One snake plant I have outgrew it's window. I got another that seems to be doing well.

I could sleep on flannel year round if only my place was cool enough.

I slept on some crisp, white sheets last night from Ikea (around 15 bucks). It really makes a difference. Ideally, I should wash them every two weeks, but practically I will wash them once a month. I really don't care about thread counts, but will look at sheets from a long fiber (Egyptian cotton) and the weave (I

If I had to pick the one book that influenced me the most, I would have to pick: How to Raise Your Self-Esteem. If I do the sentence completion exercises and apply the principles outlined in this book, my life starts to get better.

I have heard that a sliced potato works for cleaning. I have done this and it seems to work.

One thing about depression: it takes your livelihood along with your mood. A couple of things that I have found help out: self biasing; in other words, helping yourself out; not ruminating about your past: because that hardly ever helps. We make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong, the amount of work is

I believe that coding is the way of the future. Last year I bit my teeth on C and I hope to absorb a little python in the interim. Java Script is very tempting, Raspberry Pi is even more enticing. These kids are going to run circles around us eventually.

I have been using Mozilla Archive Format for pages I want to save. Pages can be saved in one neat file. This gives me stuff to read should I be out of reach of an Internet connection.

This is something I often forget to do while working on the 'puter. It's sad that I find myself tired, sore, hungry, eye-strained, and scatter-brained only to realize that I have been at the computer for hours on end!

Although children seem to soak up language like a sponge, adults have more that they can relate to. I would not say that adults are at a disadvantage.

I like that books can be put on virtual shelves (you can back up your library to your computer, although it is a .csv file). I can see which books I've read, so I don't start reading the same ones, and I can save book titles I want to read. If you can't find anything to read on this site, you may be beyond help.

Then I wouldn't get to play the hide-it-when-I-am-not-paying-attention game. Always a good time. You know the words: "I just had it! It just didn't walk out the door! I know it's here!"

Great tip! I use this a lot. I have about ten heavy duty tee-shirts for everyday wear. Will have five heavy duty sleeveless and five lightweight tees for the summer or to layer during the winter. They are all cotton, but I have merino wool socks. I am considering a purchase of silk under-garments for the winter time.

Cool new word: I relegate these cheap instruments to a milk crate outside of my tool chest.

Coffin-wear. Shiny!

Right? Makes you wonder why people pay $100+ for denim. New trend: colorful Kevlar crotches!
