That dog was NOT playing - that dog was HUNTING. The owner clearly has not socialized a dog with a high prey drive (ahem, not unlike the prey drive of a cat, I might add) to know that small humans are NOT potential food. The shaking thing is a move designed for snapping the necks of small prey.

I'm so glad it wasn't a pit. I would have to spend the rest of the day/week explaining the innocence of my own dog. Again.

I can't find specific instances of people making fun of others calling for trigger warnings, but here's where it's blatantly cited. Powder Room authors aren't allowed to do trigger warnings either, though we can, of course, write a prologue which does something to that effect.

We at Team Dog regret this incident and plan on investigating further. The perpetrator will be retrained, neutered, subject to house arrest in perpetuity and denied treats. His owners will be flogged. A lot.

Cats are amazing guardians of little kids. I had two cats in my crib from the first day I came home from the hospital and my Mom said they made it their job to protect me from strangers. Any funny odors or sounds in the house, the cats came crying to her until she checked on me.

What a good cat, holy crap. I hope the mayor gives it the key to the city.
