I was in a community service fraternity ( I am a woman). It was awesome. Great people, great goals, no hazing or assaults.

Clarification to add:

To clarify, no, I'm not calling you a nutjob. I'm saying that when people who don't need adderall use it it creates an effect in them that is alarming, and I don't understand why they would want that. It's not safer or better than heroin or cocaine when used off label, especially when used off label to do things like

So, is using a drug that you weren't prescribed to force your body to do something it wasn't made to do and that is remarkably unhealthy for it to do drug use or abuse?

I'm not interested in the last word.

Doing something illegal because you think it should be legal is not the mature way to handle things. It is essentially a temper tantrum. If you think it should be legal, I totally disagree, but feel free to work towards policies that make it legal. (I think weed should be legal, but honestly, adderall? not so much. If

Legitimate need is defined by the illness that the drug is designed to treat. A brain chemistry problem. Adderall doesn't make me stay up all night, it doesn't even get me high. It makes me focus and feel steady. The fact that you believe that it acts that way proves you're mostly interacting with people who don't

Yeah, zero snark there. I need to get out of the United States. I'm not equipped to deal with this bullshit.

Yes.

Not all value is measured in dollars. If someone is a good parent for example, but not good at anything else, nothing that makes money, are they still of worth? I believe that they are.

Yeah, it turns out when you pay people to do a job, they do a better job. Who knew!

I eat for like five bucks there. Coffee, sandwich, chips. The chips are in bags. I do not think that it takes more skill to work at Pret than McDonalds.

I live in a huge city as well (Brooklyn), but every single time I go to the pharmacy "we're all out" and if I ask for a special order it'll take ten days, at which point my prescription may have expired. (I have to get my prescriptions transported across state lines).

What about all of the fast food restaurants that are paying their employees well and also doing well?

When I was first diagnosed with ADHD I was 8. My doctor diagnosed me, wrote me a prescription, and I got it filled at the drug store every month till I was 18.

I'm so sorry :( I just got done with the great drug hunt. Four pharmacies this time.

You're making it harder for everyone who has ADHD. I have to jump through hoops to get medication I literally need to take if I want to make it through a television show longer than ten minutes. In your analogy, it would be like monopolizing all of the tutors and not letting students with learning disabilities have

Not to diminish your experience in anyway, but no. Adderall is not like cocaine, and most people who use it do not have any violent problems with it. You are using an anecdote as evidence and contributing to a culture of ignorance and mental health stigma.

My doctor still makes me. Which is stupid. I've been stable for a long time on my meds, no ups or downs. But he says sometimes you can get a weird heart thing, so they like to check for it. I don't want a weird heart thing, so I keep going.

Dude. Your psychiatrist should be forced out of the field. I had to take multiple psychiatric evaluations before I was diagnosed with ADHD. What does she do, just talk to people and then claim she knows what is effecting them? That's not what psychiatrists are supposed to do, and is grossly negligent.
