C: Young Adult literature is increasing in sophistication, thanks to an influx of great new writers. It often deals with complex subject matter in a literary manner, and in some cases is more sophisticated than adult literature.

First of all, I do read Tolstoy and DFW. I love them both dearly. Tolstoy's characters kill me, and David Foster Wallace's tirade about suicide in Infinite Jest nearly brought me to tears because it was so spot on and the thing everyone has felt and been afraid to say.
That would make me feel better. John Green has profoundly changed my worldview with his writing. He is absolutely wonderful, regardless of age.

I got your original point, but you have zero ire for the women hitting. My entire point is that hitting is always wrong, regardless of gender.
Several people getting screwed over does not equal society having an anti-male bias.
You made a mistake in how you phrased something. I do believe that's it. But instead of admit that answering a rhetorical question with one word , "women" in this case, but literally any other group would have been as offensive or worse, was a bad call and clearly conveyed something other than what you wanted...
