You were wise to get out and check it out. My buddy curbed his parents Villager in a similar way, except he decided just to drive it home, roughly a 45 minute drive. Well it was leaking oil profusely from a damaged oil pan and he didn't make it home. He's not exactly a car guy.

It was more of a minuscule collision than a dodge. Watch how the car and truck bounce in unison when the little car's bumper slides under the truck's. Good Volvo brakes, though. The driver was clearly in no mood to kill a little old lady that day (at least, not with his truck).

Not a bad idea and in a case like this that may work really well. I can think of a small pile of exceptions to this and issues if the escaping person is not conspicuous but not enough to say this is a bad idea. So shall we make a pledge?
