Why not just elevate the cab up a 18-24 inches with a reclined sports car type laid back seating position and have an entirely open bed with only a height restriction in a small section? Like super under seat storage.

I don't know about cheap, but definitely bland. So many straight lines and flat surfaces. It almost feels like a modern interpretation of what the 80s thought 2015 would look like.

IMO, a unibody series would be nice. Ford racing body in white, add a cage, spec -suspension/tires/intake/exhaust/etc. keeping it "low cost" and go. Celebrity-race-scion-Tc-long-beach or IROC style.
