Not long. Mass like that would become new center of solar system, literally ripping it apart, changing all orbits. Sun would start orbiting it, everything “sunward” would still orbit the Sun, but the orbits would be change. Everything “outward” would orbit the hole.
City inspectors haven’t been able to get access to the building. A faulty fridge does not usually mean 30+ people dead. Those people were trapped and killed because they were in a labyrinth of flammable junk that obstructed walkways, doors, and windows.
Is it an accurate indicator of candidate support, though, after you take into account the wide regional disparities in the US?
I’m fucking sick of seeing this shit so let’s put it to bed once and for all.
Haha really? Did you follow any of her career? We avoided a mess and inherited a mess. There is a reason that most people considered this an election of the lesser of two evils.
THE POPULAR VOTE CAN’T MELT STEEL BEAMS!!!!!!1!!!one!1!!!
Yes, because the word gang has absolutely no racial undertones at all.
The problem is we are not a true democracy. If a presidential candidate vowed and had the ability to put a 500% tax on fossil fuels in exchange for free public transport, those in major cities would vote for them in mass. At the same time the farmers, shippers and anyone not living in an urban environment would suffer…
If the election went solely to the popular vote then California and New York would decide every presidential election for the rest of the nation. The electoral college exists to prevent a few population centers from ruling the entire nation. It is not a flawed or outdated system. You and others like you crying…
Can someone please clarify something for me? Admittedly, I’m a republican (but didn’t vote for Trump) and this may not be the post to ask this question, but I’m educated enough to want to read both sides of the coin when it comes to what happened last month...so here goes...
the electorial college is doing exactly whats its meant to do. give a voice to the numerous smaller states you dipwad. Did you learn any history in grade school or where you too busy skyping/face-timing/snap-chatting/facebooking and texting on your cellphone to actually participate in learning? I am about as liberal…
You need to ask yourself if you would feel the same way had Trump won the popular vote but lost the electoral college. I suspect that you would not.
You seem to be forgetting that the U.S. is a federal republic, not a straight democracy. The only popular vote that matters is that of each individual state.
The budgeted costs for the Air Force One replacement program are $2.87 billion for the fiscal years 2015 through 2021, according to budget documents.
They certainly are. But claiming that one should be given more leeway with the facts over the other is ridiculous. You came here and assumed the story factual, ready to argue based on its merits. Then you stated that Gizmodo shouldn’t be held to the same standard as the NYT. Maybe not, but can I hold you responsible…
The author is clearly just another gawker with an axe to grind against Trump that can’t figure out that budget and costs are two different things.
Capital or operating cost? They don’t say which but you budget each separately with capital cost being an upfront year 1 expense and operating costs spread over the lifetime of the product.
It remains unclear where Trump came up with the project’s price tag of “over $4 billion.”
Nope, just next year’s allotment for development as the project is, in fact, over-budget: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2016/12/06/boeing_disputes_trump_tweet_about_4_billion_air_force_one_contract.html
