If this car elicits no emotion or design to you, I think you should see a doctor.

I’m pretty sure they accounted for at least a quarter of deposits to back out. 225,000 is still a substantial number, especially considering the sales of ICE cars in it’s class (compact luxury sedan).

So bump my number down to 9 million (that would be 75%). And we’ll cut it in half, so we’re only counting those who make more than $49,000. So 4.5 million. Let’s say maybe 5% are interested. That’s still 225,000 potential buyers in the 25-34 market in just the US. Not counting international sales, not counting the

I have respect for what came before, but I’m also happy to embrace the future. And Musk above the others wants to preserve the heritage of driving machines. He’s not into making appliances. Unless you think ground-breaking rockets are just appliances too.

There are 16 million 25-34 year olds with at least a bachelors degree in the US. Their median salary is $49,000.

Ok grandpa. Nobody is gonna take away your Jitterbug. Why don't you go ahead and lie down for your afternoon nap.

Almost everyone under 40 is a millennial. most are also tech savvy, particularly those with money.

You consider “under 40" a small portion of the population?

I think the Model 3's target demographic has no issues using a multifunction display for basically everything.

I think “minimalist modern” is the new direction in automotive interior design (and I welcome it). Take a look at the Cadillac Escala concept:

It’s no closer than a Nav system in any other smallish car. The Model 3 interior space is larger than you’d think, they pushed the “firewall” forward quite a bit compared to comparable cars (3-series).

We can debate round and round about pricing of displays, but at the end of the day we’ll have to wait until Musk has reveal number 2 to find out about a HUD. I think it’s extremely likely that the Model 3 will either have a HUD or something similar on the production model. Knowing Musk, they’re working on exactly how

I can’t find an aftermarket HUD for more than $250. At manufacturing cost it’s nowhere near $500.

Massive LCD screens are usually an expensive option too, but the Model 3 definitely has one of those.

None of the prototypes we’ve seen have a HUD. But that doesn’t mean the production car won’t.

Except that automated parallel parking is a feature found in dozens of cars. Tesla incidents get reported because Tesla incidents get clicks. I’d be interested to see if the data indicates that Tesla actually has more of these incidents.

I think there’s speculation that it will include a HUD. Depending on the setup, a working HUD may not be visible due to the angle the Instagram photo was taken at.

FACT: Emotional responses always trump factual information.

Since when does concealed carry equal mass murder?

I think the people of San Francisco would doubly appreciate that.
