that is what you call a headshot
that is what you call a headshot
And the only reason that they added the “pucks that hit the spectator netting prior to being directed immediately into the goal,” is because of this bullshit that I’m still not over.
It was tight but in general if you hustle that hard the linesman will give you the reward of waiving it off
I forgot about the Bergeron factor. However, I think he’s the kind of player that will pretty much be productive until he stops playing like Iginla or Sundin.
999 times out of 1000, I abhor violence in sports. But if someone took it upon himself to perform a little dentistry on Brad Marchand, I would not object.
You hate him, but you want a pest like this on your team for this reason. No less than three CBJ players tried to line him up on that shift shortly after this, if one of them had tripped him, or taken an interference for that, his ploy would have worked.
Sometimes people who are good at their job just fuck up. Sometimes they’ve got to fall on their sword to appease the guy who just wrote your league a check for half a BILLION dollars less than 2 years ago.
No, they are being held accountable for doing a bad job. This should happen more often in all sports.
That’s not true at all. This isn’t a high sticking call, there’s no four minute minimum for blood. Referees can asses a major for reckless play at their discretion, but this was just a routine penalty ( especially in the playoffs ) with a bad outcome.
Can confirm as I was there as well. It was so loud after the fourth goal I literally couldn’t hear the goal music. I was jumping up and down and hugging total strangers and the Sharks aren’t even my favorite team.
I’m pulling for the Sharks, since their window is closing fast, but I don’t like that call.
Distance from the boards is the difference in this hit. There is a sweet spot of distance where you can get really fucked up and Oshie was in that spot when he got hit. Too close to the boards, no injury. Farther away from the board he has time to get up or brace for the contact.
Folks, this is also IIHF. Very different/confusing rule book, plus multiple game officials from different countries. There could be a language barrier
Time is irrelevant.
I think as long as the puck is moving forward (or not backwards) then it is ok.
that’s a dumbass argument
That’s fine and is your choice as a consumer of entertainment.
Cool story brah
Sure, if you think hockey players should be boring robots then I guess. He’s not Scott Stevens, ending guys careers but being put in the Hall of Fame. Or Alexander Ovechkin, openly supporting a terrible dictator while going on the ice with intent to injure opponents (y’know, like slew footing guys and shit like that).
Did you read the article? It’s inmate on inmate violence that’s out of control. Sure, criminal justice reform would be beneficial, and more oversight is a good idea. But you’re talking like the guards are doing this or something.
