NBC’s hyper-jingoism and constant “US as the underdog” coverage (even though we are the favorite in 70% of the events) makes me actively root against the US in every event.

My favorite is when women who read Jezebel every single day get super pearl clutchy when learning that one of their friends reads xoJane everyday, because she would never read such a trashy rag, like aren’t we all feminists over here? (and vice versa).
I lol’d. Because, you know, San Antonio is so cosmopolitan.
At this point i’m more concerned for their country than feminism.
Why are so many people so pleased with an anti-immigration, pro-Iraq War, anti-Human Rights person just because this person is a “she?”
Steffi Graf won her first GS tournament in 1987, at the age of 18 the calendar GS and the Olympic gold medal in 1988 at the age of 19. So much for Serena and Venus being just little girls at the time they played this dude, when they were 17 and 18 .
He was 1. really clearly joking and 2. making a perfectly reasonable point, that the twitter format makes it unfortunately easy to turn a lot of discussion of serious issues into sound bites.
Whatever you do, don’t ask why white people are given so much more lenient sentences for the same crimes while the book is thrown at black people. Don’t ask why a white kid who kills people while drunk driving can be released to his parents because of “affluenza” while a black kid who does the same thing will be tried…
Castille did nothing wrong. He had no criminal record, legally owned his gun, and did everything he was supposed to do. He was still shot. Profiled randomly and without cause.
So, were you born without the ability to recognize a joke, or was it surgically removed later in life? smh
I LOVE this little cafe down the street from my house. It’s so cute and independent and I want desperately for them to succeed, so the first few times I came by and they were sold out of TWO of my favorite items I was actually glad. I thought selling out meant they were doing well and I was happy for them.
NO JOKES ALLOWED. EVERYTHING IS REAL.
Haha it's so upsetting! Or like when your favorite place is inexplicably closed. I was back in Chicago for like 5 days and my whole family was going to my FAVORITE brunch place. And I had spent a month looking forward to it. We show up and they were closed FOR THREE WEEKS. I started crying then too.
I think he was just poking fun at the 140 character limit on Twitter, which makes difficult to finish a full, deep thought on a serious matter...
I think he might've been joking?
I’m not angry, I just don’t understand the point of this article.
You can bash on the show; I don’t really think it’s that great. But why would you write an article critiquing a show with a topic you’re not even a fan of? You’re approaching the whole thing with an attitude of “I’m not going to like this” because you…
So you’re allowed to use Jezebel as a podium to whine about things you don’t understand but when someone else does, they need your unsolicited advice?
Did that response sound clever when you were thinking of it?
This piece was pretty annoying. I’m a female and I enjoyed the episode, as well as the previous two. Please don’t use Jezebel as a podium to whine about things you don’t understand due to lack of interest. My unsolicited advice: If you don’t care, don’t write about it.
very rational reasons
