Last year, when my car was out of action I rented a VW Jetta with the Stop/Start thingy. It was completely disconcerting to hear the engine going off while at a stop light. And then delay after depressing the gas pedal waiting for the engine to turn on. I felt like I was learning to drive a standard all over again.
